MTB 1:15:00 [3] 24.3 km (3:05 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Another 8 degree day, so cold as, but you need to get out. Rugged up the best I could, and headed of. Lawson St to DH, then KG through to the Channel, did a little different when I got back to KG, went back on the fence line to check for any significant holes in the fence.

If so, I was going to take the bike in, and check out what Dave came across on Sunday. I can confirm that there is a sign on the back gate, 'Deep Core Drilling' so it looks like they aren't trying to hide what they are up to.

No holes to report, so just followed it along to SG, and came home

RUN 40:00 [3]

Went to the lake a little earlier tonight, as I had a meeting at 7.30. Thought the Girls may have been there, but Ilks is in Robinvale, and my sister didn't go. Trained with Greeny and Belieny. Did a couple of 1k efforts, not to hard

Finish at about 7, no Boys turned up as well. Looks like it was a bad night to go training

Didn't know if I should, as leg didn't feel that good, but if I didn't go, I was never going to know

Got through the run better than I thought I would, leg not good, but glad I ran, as things are looking better

MTB (Bendigo Bushland Trail) 3:17:00 [3] 70.3 km (2:48 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Been meaning to do this one for quite a while, and seeing that I needed to keep away from running, but wanted to test the endurance, the time was right.

Got some information from here and here, so set of.

Out through Diamond Hill, then skirted Kangaroo Flat more than suggested, then Browns Reef, before going through Devonshire Reef, got through most of the Whipsticks on memory. (Glad that I know the area, don't know how PPL get around through lack of Signage)

1st stop was at the Lights in Epsom, then 2nd shortly there after after bumping into Invis on his run. I then tried to cut across to the trail again, but missed, and went West of the airport, was so looking forward to going up the easy, smooth Plant Rd, but next time.

Along the Channel track at Wildflower, before getting to go over the top of OTH, was tempting to cut around the bottom, as shorter and no climb, but that wouldn't be fair.

Nice ride, will have to convince the Bendigo crowd to do it. Will try to stick to more Forest next time as well.

WALK 40:00 [1] 4.0 km (10:00 / km)

Slight niggle in the knee, so took it easy.

2 and a bit laps of the lake while the guys did some training. Only Ev, Birch and Jamie tonight. There are some soft guys about.

RUN 1:15:00 [3] 15.0 km (5:00 / km)

Normal Sunday morning run, was going to do extra, but had a slightly strained side of knee, so took it easy. May have been the downhill yesterday

2 PM

RUN race 19:50 [4] 5.0 km (3:58 / km)

Ran with my old club, as there race was at the bottom of the Mount. Hard climb up to the minor saddle, Buckell got away from me easily here, but I made a little time on the way down. No need to warm down, as I was worn out

Friday Jun 18, 2010 #

Note

Bendigo Primary Schools Orienteering Championships at Quarry Hill Golf Course were today, so after setting up, and packing up, no time to train, well maybe time, but no will to train.

Great area for long legs, but wasn't used for that, course setter kept the legs short enough, that all we did was run from one hill to the next.

Got a little boring at times. Forest was nice

RUN 1:50:00 [3] 23.4 km (4:42 / km)
shoes: Pegasus 27

Had to get a longer run under my belt, but hate the cold. Decided that I had to HTFU so got going. Bit of rain soon after the start, and another shower at about half way, wouldn't have been to bad, if it wasn't so f....ing cold. Wore a beanie, thermal, jacket and gloves, but was never warm

Did Bryan's Sandhurst Res loop, or the same as I rode Monday, is a good run.

RUN 1:15:00 [3] 15.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Terrain

Good turn up this morning, most were wearing tights, must be a sign of the temperature. Victor was moving well, he didn't race yestie, but did 40k. I think he was trying to psych me out (-:

Surprised with how well it all went, considering how I felt after the yesterday's race

Saturday Jun 5, 2010 #

1 PM

RUN warm up/down 10:00 [3] 2.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Terrain

Around the uni
2 PM

RUN race 28:59 [5] 7.5 km (3:52 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

Uni Invitation, another slow start from me, saw me back of the back of the 2nd pack, kept it together, and worked the hills well, then as we approached the dirt section - and the top of the hill - I sensed a slow down at the front, so took the chance to push the pace. It seemed to work, as one by one, I felt no one behind.

Went through with 1.5 k to go, best chance in a while to check the opposition behind, and I seemed clear of all the other pre vets, still had 2 in front, but was holding 3rd. With 500 to go, bloke not that far back, so I pushed a little harder, and held him of.

3rd in 40+, there were 9 of us in the top 15, it is a very competitive age group
3 PM

RUN warm up/down 10:00 [3] 2.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Talon 212 #1

Out to the 1k marker, and back

Friday Jun 4, 2010 #

3 PM

ROAD BIKE 1:20:00 [3] 41.7 km (1:55 / km)

Out around the GooseNeck, nothing much happened

Wednesday Jun 2, 2010 #

10 AM

ORIENTEERING ◪ 30:00 [3]
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite

Put out controls on Wildflower Drive, and bought them back in. Took a lot longer than the 30 mins, only logging the time that I ran
3 PM

ROAD BIKE 1:00:00 [3] 31.0 km (1:56 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Thought I was going to get out before it got to cold, but the days turns so quickly, I missed it again.

Did a clockwise Juvy, kept the bike in top all the way, suffered on a few hills, but I got there

Tuesday Jun 1, 2010 #

6 PM

RUN intervals 40:00 intensity: (15:00 @2) + (15:00 @3) + (10:00 @5)
shoes: Nike Terrain

Intervals at the Lake

I had a meeting at 7.30, so did my training with the Girls Group. My sister and Ilka was there, we did 2 laps warm up, then 3 laps of 500 on, 200 of x 2, then a final lap as a warm down.

Was feeling good
7 PM

Note

Good thing I didn't go racing at Sandown on the weekend, my sister ran 39.02, a PB, and she is nearly 47 (whoops, not meant to put her age there) (-:

Pity she cant navigate.
