MTB 40:00 [3]

Was meant to be a easy ride, not that it was hard, just that I was feeling tired from a big week of racing and training, glad that it is over, easy week this week, then the Oz Champs carnival is on next week

Sunday Sep 24, 2006 #

ORIENTEERING ◪ race 1:20:59 [5] 11.2 km (7:14 / km) +550m 5:48 / km

Final SS for the year, got out early before the rain, went straight on the 1st long leg, was a min behind Bruce, got Bruce back 2 min on the long leg to 14.
Overall I bet the big Ev by 5.22, so after 2 days this weekend, I came out in front (-:
Good result for Bendigo, top 4 places

RUN warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Warm down with Dave and Leon, it was starting to blow a little, and getting cold, glad that I started early, it was bad enough when I was out there on the exposed side of Mt Tarrengower

Saturday Sep 23, 2006 #

ROAD BIKE 1:30:00 [3]

Rode to the Bendigo event, Started out with Leon and Bryan, at half way, Bryan puntured, one wonders why he hadnt puntured earlier as he had a lot of canvas showing, Got out my repair kit, Thats right, he doesnt even carry a repair kit, or a spare tube. Fixed it but the tyre was in bad shape so he waited for his mother, who was driving to the event. Leon and I went on together, the L-Train was struggling towards the end.

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Bendigo Club Champs) 40:08 [5] 7.4 km (5:25 / km)

Big Ev is on fire!! 37.15, next was Warren Key, in 38? then myself 40.08, followed very close by Toph, Johnny Maher and Dave Brownridge who all ran under 42. Bryan (43.10) started 3 mins in front and I ran him down with 2 controls to go.
Good to see all those young blokes running so well.

WALK 20:00 [2]

Walked home after dropping the truck of at the mechanics

MTB 10:00 [3]

Rode up to the res to do reps

RUN tempo (Clara reps) 16:00 [5]

I DID it, I finally got to the road!!!!

And returned Decided that today was going to be the day, this was my last chance to do it this season. Maybe it helped that I ran in my racing flats, or maybe it was the 5 slices of Nutella, Cheese and Honey I had before I went. Went out hard, no guts no glory, ran over the road with 15 secs to go, (So much time), got back with 5 secs to go, cant say I did it easy, but I did get there and back.

WALK warm up/down 4:00 [3]

Trying to catch my breath, had to keep moving

MTB 10:00 [3]

Road the bike home

Wednesday Sep 20, 2006 #

RUN 20:00 [3]

Ran with Breezy around the golf course in the dark, was meant to use the head light, but that died very soon after starting, will have to keep it charged up in future

Monday Sep 18, 2006 #

MTB 30:00 [3]

Easy ride up to Diamond Hill, along the fence, down the creek and home through the Cemetery

Sunday Sep 17, 2006 #

RUN 1:20:00 [3]

Early morning long run with the boys, good to see Toph there. I was out the back for the whole way, but not by much.

Note

Was going to do the MTBO, but being a bit tired from the run, I went to Castlemaine and helped out.
Did a bit of talking also

Saturday Sep 16, 2006 #

RUN warm up/down 12:00 [3]

Pry to the tan relays, included some tempo

ATHLETICS race (Tan Relay) 13:24 [5] 3.83 km (3:30 / km)

Ran the last leg, it was lonely out there, our team is in Div 2, we got done.
Leon ran well, as did Bryan and Birchy, I will have to train harder if I am to keep up with them in the future.

Ran same time as Blair did during the week

RUN warm up/down 8:00 [3]

Easy run after the race, not to much as I still had another race to do today

ORIENTEERING ◪ race 44:47 [4] 7.5 km (5:58 / km)

Final run of the day, did not have to go and beat Big Ev, as he felt like grap, and pulled out.
Wanted to run under 45 (6min K), had to push it hard from the last control, I over shoot it and made a 2 min error

Friday Sep 15, 2006 #

ROAD BIKE 50:00 [3]

Went for a ride around the block with the Leon, made him work hard, and had him easy on the biggest hill (-:

Thursday Sep 14, 2006 #

RUN 1:00:00 [3]

Ran with Birchy, Leon and Bryan. We went up and checked out the new mine, went through the fence and kept out of sight of the workers, very easy and did not cover a lot of distance, dont know how L-Train got 90 mins, must be cooking the books

Wednesday Sep 13, 2006 #

ROAD BIKE 1:15:00 [3]

Around the Goose Neck and back along Tannery Lane. Top gear all the way, I remember AJ telling us the reasons why this is good training, I like it as well

Tuesday Sep 12, 2006 #

RUN warm up/down 20:00 [3]

RUN 10:00 [4]

Went to the track to do some more 800's, did 1st in 2.38 (bit fast) and 2nd in 2.42. Active float in between. Gave up as legs were very tired and heavy, but then what did I expect after the weekend of racing, this is normal and I will be fine tomorrow.

Monday Sep 11, 2006 #

MTB 1:00:00 [3]

Out around the mine, then around the res, back home. Nice easy ride, felt really good.

Note

The mine has made a mess of Diamond Hill, it will never be the same )-;

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Carroll's Spring) 1:21:01 [4]

State Series event on the old Spargo Creek map, ran here for the 1st time back in 1980 in the Australian Relay champs, been remaped by club members.
Did not go to hard as I was a little sore from the Road race yesterday, and I thought, if I ran slower, I would be able to clock up more minutes on AP.
Course was not to hard, many on major features, just hard work and cold, Had to run up the hill near the start twice, not much fun )-;

MTB 15:00 [2]

Went for a easy roll over of the legs, been a hard weekend of training/racing, and more important, to get in front of Ilka on AP :-)

Saturday Sep 9, 2006 #

RUN warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Out into the wind, checking out the last bit of the course

ATHLETICS race 56:44 [5] 15.0 km (3:47 / km)

Glen Allan 15k road race, the 1st half of the race was run into a 30 kph headwind, made it hard to run when on your own, there was a group of 4, 100 m in front of me sharing the work load, i just pushed my way into the wind, couldn't catch anyone from the group in front, but more important, no one caught me either. Time 50 secs slower than last year, but considering the wind, very happy with the whole race

RUN 10:00 [3]

easy stroll/warm down after the race

Friday Sep 8, 2006 #

ROAD BIKE 1:10:00 [3]

Wet for a ride with the L-Train, out over Diamond Hill, K Flat, Olympic Parade, Eaglehawk Tip and Home

Thursday Sep 7, 2006 #

RUN warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Run to the Res for intervals

RUN intervals 16:00 [5]

Did the usaul Rep session at the res with L-Train, Keely and Birchy. Keely was out to get to the track, L-Train was not going to let him get away, Birchy did not know what was hitting him, I just sat back and watched. Keely got to the same place as last week, L-Train just behind him, then they raced the return leg and got back with 10 15 sec to spare.
I ran it well and pulled up OK, 15k road race this Saturday

RUN 4:00 [3]

Strech and easy run pry to returing home

RUN warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Return home from Reps

Wednesday Sep 6, 2006 #

Note

No training today for a number of reasons

1 It is to cold, (did not get above 8 degrees)
2 It is wet, I hate getting wet when I train
3 I had a tooth extracted yesterday and have to "Avoid Strenuous Exercise" for 24 hours

Tuesday Sep 5, 2006 #

RUN 20:00 [5]

Had to go to the dentist today, so went out before lunch and did some reps. Was going to do 5 x 800, but after doing the 1st one in 2.40 (3.20 Km), I decided to see how many I could do at this pace, did 4
2.40
2.40
2.38
2.39
Dont know if I could have done the 5th, I was feeling a little wasted, so decided to stop before I injured myself

RUN warm up/down 30:00 [3]

10 mins pry to reps, and 20 mins after

Sunday Sep 3, 2006 #

ORIENTEERING ◪ race 42:00 [4]

Burhoney Ghurk, 3 loop race, I started with Keely and L-Train, completed loop 1 at the same time as Keely, as I had the longer loop, I thought I had him under control, as I finished the 2nd loop, I saw L-Train running across the slope above me on his way out on the 2nd loop (he did have the longest 1st loop, but was only doing 2 loops), kept pushing it along and finished before the Keely boys

Note

Todays map was 15,000, I have to admit that I am getting older, but i cant read anything at this scale nowadays, 10,000 scale maps are the way to go.

Saturday Sep 2, 2006 #

ATHLETICS race 17:40 [5]

5k Club Champs today, thought I had better go as I haven't run many this year, Keely started 10 secs in front and L-Train 20 behind, had Keely under control from the start, but L-Train caught me just before the 1st real climb, I certainlly showed him who was boss then but in the end he evetually wore me down and ran away with a 30sec+ beter time than me. Keely DNF

RUN warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Pry to and after CC race

Friday Sep 1, 2006 #

Note

Wanted to go training today, but after spending 15 hrs driving the truck, I decided I needed a rest
