shoes: Asics DS Trainer

Swiss sprint champs at Dornbirn.
Pretty clean run, mostly happy with route choices, just a few minor hesitations. Just not fast enough to be really competitive. Good splits at the start and end.. meaning I'm not putting in enough effort in between? ;)

20th, 2:21 (16%) down on Judith. Much better in terms of time behind than last year Swiss Sprint champs at the same time of year (20% behind).

Swiss and Austrian national race & seelction trials, Middle distance.
Beautiful alpine forest with a charlift to the start and finish at the bottom.
Quite a clean run, in control but also felt like I was holding back a bit. Went a bit too wide on a long leg and a few other 20sec losses, so although I was missing the race aggression I like to hace, I was pretty happy with the run.

9th place, probably my best swiss result so far! 5mins (18%) behind Simone, who was a still minute ahead of the others!)

Rather short warm up. Late start and driving meant I forgot to eat enough and started feeling hungry and feeble before the start. Luckily mostly downhill course!

Found out this week that I have an exam which I can't miss, right in the middle of WOC. So I definately can't run WOC middle or relay, but hopefully can run the long distance.
Very disappointed, but whatever happens is for the best I suppose..

Swiss team long selection race. Les Alpettes, home of WOC 1981.
Steep interesting forest, sometimes beautifully runnable but also some pretty tough green bits towards the end.
Technically.. two frustrating losses. Lost about 2mins on #1, as I started running to #2. And later about 3mins searching on #10 really close to the control but doubting myself..
Physically i felt a bit lacking on the hills and didn't feel like I pushed hard enough. On the positive side it didn't feel very long.
Otherwise happy with routes etc. Also managed to mostly stay ahead of Judith from 5-8 ;) I'm relatively good in terrain but need to be fitter on the hills!
Happy with my first 10th place (top 10 was a goal today) in a full swiss field, and 'only' 13mins behind Judith, though it should have been more like 8 without the two big mistakes. 18% behind, have to get that down..

Ow my L foot was killing me afterwards! (notheing to do with previous foot worry). I banged it really hard on something during the race, and also had quite a few painful incidents of stones or sticks bruising my arches. Not really happy with the innovates in rough terrain, a bit flimsy and also have come off more than once (including once today).
