Swiss national day swim, accross to Island Ufnau and back. Got really cold on the island so tried to swim back as fast as possible. About half freestyle, half breast stroke. 34 min there, 29 mins back.

kayaking etc 40:00 [1]

Not kayaking actually, but my first Stand up Paddling! From Altendorf to Lachen and back. Stability was ok and didn't fall in, but had trouble feeling stable enough to really push through the paddle. Fun!

This was a hill race with a twist, organised yearly by Tobias' cousin Simon.. The start was in Galgenen, and the finish at Ruchweid (650m vertical climb), with free route through the wander ways, fields and forest. Twist is that you have to carry a crate of beer and drink it on the way!
I ran in a team with Karin (Leonhardt), and we decided upon 6 beers for the trip (officially the guys have to drink 10, but girls are allowed to do what they want!). I was more smashed than Karin at the end, but not enough to turn down two more at the top! Maybe can do 8 next time, with a bit better training ;)
After a medicinal shot of herbal schnapps at the start we set off at an awkrad crate carrying run, which lasted a few hundred meteers till be got into the forest and had the first bear. We soon discovered that with all the fresh beer in our stomachs walking would be more pleasant..
It was a total hoot, starting in reverse speed order meant we met most other teams on the way, could try to get gains with some ducious 'shortcuts', padventures through mud, cow fields and electric fences. We took 90 minutes all up, most of that was probably in the the last few hundred meters of hilarity!

Evening run at a hardish pace. Around Eichholz including 5 laps of the forest barkchip loop, which keep the legs entertained whilst the mind can go off and thinks about things. Loved the evening summer light through the forest after heaps of rain!
Feeling that I have done no real training for a month (tapering, sick at WOC, two weeks feeling rather jaded about training). Getting back into it from this week.

Some short term goals:
Build strength. besser and stronger running form.
Plan and stick to training plan
Enjoy plenty of summer long runs, rides, swims, canoing
Top ten in Swiss long champs and the Swiss national events

and later:
Top 20 in the World cup middle in Liestal (beforehand get a positive feeling in Mittellandwald)
Top 6 in world cup in Tassie
Have happy knees :)
