orienteering 42:00 [4]

Oceania Middle - Racecourse Creek, Beechworth.
Reasonably happy with my run.
I really felt like I was racing in the first half which was fun, although my nav felt a bit messy rather than really sharp middle nav (dropped a little low on #3,came into #5 a bit high, lost 1 minute at #9 in the circle, was a little off coming into #10).
Then the course hit the hills at the end I struggled physically - there were three uphill legs towards the end and I lost a placing on each of them!
Nice that the SA girls were 1st today in the NOL, and that Bridget and Simon are the overall NOL winners!

6th, 6:50 behind Lizzie (who flew past me towards the end, otherwise I was running alone).

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Warm up to the start - very warm!

orienteering 1:49:33 intensity: (5:17 @3) + (1:35:20 @4) + (8:56 @5)

Oceania Long - Kangaroo Crossing.
This felt incredibly tough, but in hindsight very satisfying to get through and the terrain was awesome of course. Would have been so much fun if I'd been fit!
Quite annoyed at two 'in the circle' mistakes which lost me three mins each: #2 I approached spot-on after nailing #1, but suddenly lost confidence (people around) and panicked rather than stop/check and realise I was right. #13 was a really short leg but I got all confused in my exhaustion and couldn't relocate.
Route choices were ok but I just felt so slow! #4 I took a different route to Lizzie who had caught me, just for the sake of it which was stupid (and had more climb).
On a positive, my autopilot nav instincts are pretty good and I did the downhill legs well ;)

5th, 17mins behind Lizzie.
