Finally ran up Stockberg from Siebnen! About 800m climb, some parts really steep so walking was just as hard as running. Glorious at the top! Then along the ridge till I met Tobias and continued walking with him.
We took a non existant way through extremely steep forest and ended up in a spectacular landslide valley. Lots of bush bashing fun! We got back to the car just before the daily rain storm :/
We saw SO many different types mushrooms, got to go out collecting :)

Swiss Long champs. It was thoroughly spectacular, with the start at about 2000m, fresh snow overnight, and terrain that changed every few kms! From fast alpine meadows, to glacial scree, big jumbled rock, confusing moundy moraine terrain, tough alpine undergrowth and some vague tricky forest at the end.
I really enjoyed it, which was my main goal. Physically didn’t feel as unfit as expected, but the lack of training meant that towards the end my brain lost the plot and I lost some big time bumbling about. Otherwise had some good sections. Just not quite focused enough to keep it together all the way.
I didn't really feel like I was racing, probably because I put no pressure on myself and was enjoying the scenery too much! But I needed an enjoyable race like that to get me back into it. Motivated for some more alpine races in a few weeks, and training in General.
15th, 24mins behind Simone. I could very realistically have been 10mins faster.
Legs totally buggered afterwards!

NLZ O training. forest pretty green and stingy with lots of summer undergrowth, but I had a good time and was pretty on the ball.

Running 12:00 intensity: (1:00 @1) + (2:00 @2) + (9:00 @3)

9mins warm up, 3mins jog from the finish. Physically felt ok, lacking a bit of push and forest strength but not too bad. Stomach unhappy this arvo.

Moderate intervals in Eichholz, undulating. 5x (2' hard -30'' rec - 1' hard) with 2' rec between.
I think I am recovering from WOC disappointment (which lead to complete lack of motivation rather than a boost..). Will not be in any type of shape for a tough swiss long champs this weekend but will enjoy the challenge and look further ahead.

Ez/mod lunchtime run. Steep up from Galgenen then more gradual down over Siebnen. Legs a little bit stiff (calves, hamstrings, R plantar).

Steep up from Galgenen then down and about.. Could feel knee slightly going down steep, it doesn't like the cold? Pissing down with freezing un-summery rain. It has rained almost every day for the last month!!

Swiss national day swim, accross to Island Ufnau and back. Got really cold on the island so tried to swim back as fast as possible. About half freestyle, half breast stroke. 34 min there, 29 mins back.

kayaking etc 40:00 [1]

Not kayaking actually, but my first Stand up Paddling! From Altendorf to Lachen and back. Stability was ok and didn't fall in, but had trouble feeling stable enough to really push through the paddle. Fun!
