I was a bit apprehensive that I wouldn't manage to concentrate on racing because of the beautiful sunshine and bush! ...but ended up being a reasonable run. Good course with interesting route choices I thought.
Went right around on the track on 1, up the little tracks to the left on 4 (not all the way, cut through up the creek and throught the yakkas) and mostly through the bush to 7. Caught Tracy at 4 but seperated on 7, then had Shannon at the end.
Felt too slow in the first part and seems like I lost 2mins to Anna on 4 despite no mistakes. Felt better in the second half, managed to push pretty hard but still felt too slow. I guess that is why I should train...

Long warm down as legs felt a bit sore from lack of warm down after the middle.
Minimal warm up. Stomach still bit sore but not as bad.

Fun area and course. Felt a bit slow running and orienteering, seemingly lacking my usual log bounding ability and control flow. Few small time losses, most annoyingly 20secs on the last control as the times were close at the end (too far to the right, seemed to miss the track most people got).

Much deliberation before I decided to go to the aths race round the tan..but quite glad I did go!
Throat really sore in the morning, and a bit tired from lastnight's gig.

Running race 15:48 [5] 3.8 km (4:09 / km)
shoes: Nike Structure Feb 2010

Tan relays, one lap each. Didn't feel great before the start but reasonable during the race (but would have been a different matter if it had been two laps rather than one!). Ran the hill pretty well but legs felt weak on the slight downhill for the remainder. Plenty of people on the course and it felt good to overtake people even if they were mostly 14year old girls and runners from the div. below...

to/from work. Lovely morning, very wet evening. I am beginning to recognise people in the string of commuters going the opposite way to me morning and night, particuarly the man with fluro yellow kneehigh socks to match his jacket!
Have had sore throat on waking on and off the last few weeks but it felt more toxic today.

Sore throat worse this morning (it has been lingering for over a week) but felt mostly ok during the day.

Beautiful early morning run along the Yarra to bats. Ran faster than yesterday and felt much more spritely! I know these short runs are a bit pathetic but better than nothing when I'm very busy tying to catch up on stuff...

Ran round Royal park etc from Uni. Quite boring and my legs felt slow, but nice to be out.

Bikram Yoga. When I did the first one last week, it was really really difficult and almost unbearably horrible, but today was SO much easier! I did all the moves without having to sit down and even felt ok!

Kooyoora. Entered the long course, but didnt do it all. Such a beautiful day, I just wanted a stroll in the bush, which is pretty much what this was!

Ran along a track after taking a break in the sun, to cut out the middle part of the course. Felt a bit tired actually.

To/from work. Have figured out a better way using the bike paths.
Was going to run when I got home but was tired and wanted to cook fooood. Its going to be hard to train with these commutes.

Did my first bikram (hot) yoga class, with Jess, Kez and Simon (who does reguarly). Pretty tough, especially the first half where the poses are standing up/balancing. Mostly just struggling to cope with the heat and sweat, but I think Ill go back with the hope of getting better!
