Orienteering 25:30 [3] 4.6 km (5:33 / km)

NOL spriddle, Aranda Snow Gums.

So nice to be able to actually run! And while I obviously wasn't moving as quickly as the other women, I actually felt like I was going along ok :)

Navigation was good, except for both the 'long' legs in the first 2 loops. The first time I was much too far north, not realising how thick the white bush was, and the second time I misread a blackberry thicket.

Krystal came through me at the start of the last loop, with lots of the other faster women not too far behind - made it fun to be racing.

Orienteering 2:56:45 [3] 12.53 km (14:06 / km)

NOL Ultralong, The Gib, Bungendore

I beat the Gib today! Now it's Clare 2: Gib 1. Unfortunately I didn't beat any runners, but still had a nice day out.

Started off navigating ok, but legs never had any zip in them. I'd forgotten how tough to run much of the map is. Enjoyed my route choice on the first long leg (over the top, because I thought the view would be nice), but didn't quite find my way into the circle accurately. When I was running I thought I was navigating well, but in hindsight I lost lots of little bits of time out there.

Lost A LOT of time on my second control on the second loop (140) and had no idea whatsoever where I was on the spur. Enjoyed the run along the bottom from 4-5. Made it through the end of the course pretty well. Earnt my leftover pizza for lunch.

Finding someone's discarded gel packet in the middle of the forest (nowhere near a control), and getting sunburnt were the only dampeners on the day.

Running 21:00 [3]

Definitely tapering. Had a sore left knee and hip the last few days - not sure why?

Hopefully Saturday goes better than my last run at the Gib - which ended in a relay dnf, diarrhoea (x2), vomit (x1) and being curled up on a rock with terrible period pain, all without even making it to the first control.

Short jog. Tapering?
