Melbusho at You Yangs.

I disagree with the comment on the Melbusho webpage: "a venue where it is wise to think about using the tracks and road in preference to the red line." I had 3 splits in the top 3 and they were all legs where I went straight. Didn't find the green as thick as I expected, and felt like I was moving well through it. Navigation wasn't perfect and lost touch a few times.

Surprised to see I already have a MTBO category on Attackpoint - I guess I was already using it when I did my first and last races 9 years ago.

On a bike borrowed from Jayne and a stolen mapboard (whoops). I had all the gear but no idea :) Found this a different kind of challenge - struggled to keep my place on the map, and read the map while moving. Made some mistakes at the start. Some of the tracks seemed to disappear/not be very distinct - Jayne saved me once on the way out of 6 picking up a track I would have ridden past. A bit scrappy navigation, and noticed Jayne pulling away in the area where there were lots of tracks to navigate through. Haven't heard of anyone else who didn't ride past 17 though, so that's a win :)

Big day of exercise - had a cracking headache in the evening!

Running club.

47' running and about as much again standing round getting cold. Didn't feel like that much of a training effort tonight because of said standing round and never moving particularly quickly.
