Orienteering 47:23 [3] 4.87 km (9:44 / km) +100m 8:49 / km

Vic Middle Champs, Borhoney Ghurk.

I was NOT mentally prepared for this race! Early start to cheer on my Eurovision favourites (basically all of them) and straight in the car after the results. Made it to the event with 20 mins spare :) Thanks Jayne!

Thought I'd got lost before even finding the start control. I started really disoriented, which kept on for a few controls. Must have got dizzy with all the dancing in the morning. Wasn't a very clean run and stumbled unexpected across a number of controls. Only proper mistake was on 16 where I went down to the main gully without realising and was too low. A nice day out but I was pretty happy when I finished and could stop concentrating.

The apparent winners of Eurovision in my subconscious were Spain and Australia, given they were stuck in my head as I was orienteering. Although the only lyrics I know from Spain are 'Say yay yay yay' and 'do do do dup da da'.

Parkville Parkrun debut.

Jayne's enthusiasm for doing another Parkrun was much higher than mine, but had to go around by myself in the end :( Wasn't pushing as hard as I could, but didn't have that much left.

Now back to bed after a big Friday involving getting up at 5am for Eurovision (definitely worth it) and continuing on with a work Eurovision-themed karaoke :)

Happy World Orienteering Day.

Street O course through Northcote set by Carl - MFR's contribution to WoD. Legs felt a bit tired and sore at the start. Loosened up a bit but was fairly tired by the end. Ran with Jayne and did a few route choice challenges - which all ended up pretty much equal.

Street O date with Jayne, North Melbourne (she even bought me dinner afterwards because I forgot my wallet).

A good hit out and much further/faster than I would have gone if just going for a jog by myself. I need to get over my aversion to score o and actually start trying to find good routes, instead of just not trying and using my dislike as an excuse. Felt like I was moving ok in the middle after a sluggish start.
