Riding 1:30:00 [3]

Rode out to St Albans to check out map for event I'm organising. Forgot to take map. Moonee Ponds Creek, Ring Road path, powerline easement.

Got very lost/disoriented on the way there by junctions on the Ring Road - had a little detour into Gowanbrae because I have no sense of direction. Luckily I'd taken a photo of my Melways before I left. Stood on Keilor Park Drive for a while turning my camera around trying to make things fit.

Train into the city afterwards and rode home from there.

Running 20:30 [3] 3.36 km (6:06 / km) +19m 5:56 / km

Neighbourhood plod.

Found:
- $2
- 2 plums
- a person on a Segway

Legs a bit sore. The back of my knee (which got worse after I went to the physio on 11 Jan) was a bit sore all day sitting at home with my legs crossed. Shins also a bit sore at times :(

Took my Freiburg sprint map and looked at a few random legs.

Running 35:00 [3]

Merri Creek run with CB1 and JS1. Legs were feeling pretty slow. Had some useful discussion about sprint orienteering.

Core strength/stretching 10:00 [1]

Foam rolling and strength.

Orienteering 24:38 [4] 3.8 km (6:29 / km)

Sprint Canberra, ANU South

Had my better races in the mornings. A couple of little confusions, but generally happy. And glad not to have to run again in the afternoon!

Orienteering 24:07 [4] 3.6 km (6:42 / km)

Sprint Canberra, ANU North

Tired sore legs. Navigated pretty well (although got caught out at 7 with everyone else and found 14 on the way to 11 leaving me stuck behind an unmarked hedge). Saw the most rabbits I've ever seen orienteering (I was orienteering, they were just eating grass).

Orienteering 25:56 [4] 3.6 km (7:12 / km) +65m 6:36 / km

Sprint Canberra, sprint relay Mt Stromlo

I like a good forest sprint :) Got a bit concerned at the start by the fact that noone else was heading to my first control, but they were all just wrong. Took a lot of out and about routes trying to avoid prickly gullies - some were worth it timewise, others maybe not. Found the single track hard to spot on the map, but generally happy with the navigation.
