Riding 1:45:00 [2]

Went protesting with CB1.

She met me at mine, then went to the Boulie to protest the tacks. Lots of cyclists, but unfortunately also lots of punctures. Nice cruisy ride and warmer out than I realised.

Orienteering 20:00 [3]

Post-race training, focusing on map memory.

I did ok - now to put it in to practice in a race. Need to check what feature the control is on, and not just approximately where the circle is.

Sprint into Spring, Eltham College

Wasn't quite in the zone today, and the legs weren't really feeling it. Enjoyed reading my book on the train though. And won the (women's) hill climb, with 5th overall on that leg my best split by far :) Bring on Eureka next Sunday!

Bright 4 Peaks. Day 4. Mt Buffalo.

What a beautiful day out! Enjoyed the day :) Walked most of the first half hour to the road, although I've come to the conclusion this weekend that a fast hike is quicker than a slow run. Ran a fair bit up to Mackies Lookout and then found a bit of rhythm on the rocks. Couldn't really control what my legs were doing and just had to fling them out and hope they landed, but they managed and I felt like I was moving (relatively) ok. Loved the last bit and felt like I could run :) Slower than last year, but my lack of training explains that.

Bright 4 Peaks. Day 3. Feathertop via NW Spur.

CB1 had to force me out the door today. Legs were sore, struggled with breakfast and just wasn't in the mood. Missed the start because I went round the corner for a wee but couldn't squat.

Left with CB1 and enjoyed the morning jog up the creek. Did not like the downhill bits though, which didn't matter so much as we then hit the wall and went up, up, up. It was tough. Went up into the fog and grassy forest which felt a long way from anywhere. Enjoyed the section after the MUMC hut to the junction. It was a bit windy and cold heading up to the summit (my first time ever at the top of Feathertop, but yet to see the view) but remarkably calm at the top.

It was a long day out, coming back down via Bungalow again.
