Orienteering 32:49 [4] 5.43 km (6:03 / km) +64m 5:43 / km

Vic Relays, Eppalock.

First leg - it's been a while since I ran first leg! Kept up a pretty good pace, although hills were a bit of a struggle. Definitely time to get back to the hill reps!

Only one hesitation where I ran past the control, saw it, thought it wasn't mine, but finally decided to go back and check. It was mine. Was actually orienteering a bit sloppily, but luckily held it together.

Running 31:31 [3] 5.39 km (5:51 / km) +58m 5:33 / km

Cracked the sads and had a sulk because my train was late and I didn't think I'd make it to o on time/didn't want to drive.

Went for a run up DH instead.

Running 42:30 [3]

Harding > up the creek to Carr St > back through the gaol.

Felt like I was moving well along Harding - definitely aided by a tailwind.

Core strength/stretching 15:00 [1]

Bit of strength and foam rollering.

Running 30:30 [2]

Ran to the track and back.

Running 12:30 [4] 2.93 km (4:16 / km) +11m 4:12 / km

Back at Coburg for the first time in a long time. Handicap 3km "cross country" through the park, submitting an expected time beforehand. Closest to their time wins (no watches allowed, mine was tapes).

I submitted 12.50, thinking it would be a stretch. The coach then said that was too quick and put me down as 13.30.

Went out a bit hard and was in front of my fellow 13.30 starter until she passed me up a hill about half way. She had a better finish too, which meant she was even further under her estimated time than I was. Could be stronger on hills, but I was happy with my run.

So by my calculations, if the course had have been 3.0km, I would have done 12.49.

Note

Went to the physio today. After being told the last few weeks at work that we need to "work smarter", now I also need to "train smarter."

He said all was pretty good. Not training must help.
