Riding 1:00:00 [3]

This is me being too lazy to take the train to orienteering.

Up the creek - gotta love the Merri in the morning!*

Then along the Ring Rd path - it's like riding in Bendigo out there; everyone (almost) gives you a hello and smile :) Not like the inner city snobs!

Got the train to the city from Greensborough after the event and rode home from there, but it doesn't count as training as I was wearing jeans.

*Except for the boxthorn. I am afraid of boxthorn.

Orienteering 43:09 [3] 6.1 km (7:04 / km)

Melbush O, Plenty River.

First one of these I've been to this year. Nice to get out and about, although the course was mostly on tracks/open areas.

Legs felt pretty heavy the whole race. Still tried to push them though, so it felt even harder! Lost a few seconds on #1, where there were a gazillion tracks in the area. Clean apart from that.

Laurina got me by 1 second, which means I need to buy some faster shoes!

Running 42:30 [3]

Ducked out in the arvo with a Slovenian map to read on the way. Harding St, creek, Lake, back through the gaol. Legs felt a bit weary at the start, but fresher by the end. Go figure.

Time to get some more green in my log tomorrow :)

Running 36:00 [2]

Warm up, warm down and recovery between intervals.

Nasty headwind on the way home, + my other purple bike developed a nasty squeak when I pedal. Random application of WD40 doesn't seem to have helped.

Ayups are awesome. Haven't quite got them sitting right, but handy for night time gardening and bike maintenance. And running.

Running 12:30 [4]

5 x Walmer St hill.
Ran ~2:30 hills - turned around when I could see the light [from Duncan and Rob]. Calves only just recovered from Sunday so they might be sad again tomorrow. Last interval was a struggle after the cheer squad had left!

Riding 1:30:00 [3] 34.0 km (2:39 / km)

Wednesday morning bike with CB1. Not a bad effort before work :) Clare took off pretty fast along the Boulevard and we played cat and mouse with some guy. Got him in the end. Just one lap of the Blvd, then in to the city via the Capital City Trail along the Yarra.

Really nice getting out early, but then I hit the wall at about 10am. Soldiered on for the day but wasn't talking a lot of sense by 1730.

Running 33:00 [3]

Neither my housemate nor I really felt like running, but we made it out the door together.

I showed him my favourite Eurovision dresses in the shop on Sydney Rd; he showed me a Little Free Library (http://littlefreelibrary.org/, although it's not on the map). Tested out the Ayups - brilliant, but I think I had them on a little tight - nice big forehead welt :)

Legs felt ok, just a bit tired. Except going up the hills when I could really feel my calves, as usual after the Bluestone!
