Running 15:00 [2]

Warm up/down.

Running race 1:14:43 [4] 15.0 km (4:59 / km)

Coburg Bluestone Classic.

Just cracked the 5min/km mark :) And 2nd again! 6'21 quicker than 2 years ago.

Was quicker than planned in the track 3k. Legs were a bit sore already. Slogged along the bike path with one girl in front of me - and she was getting further away. Given how much under 5min/kms I was before going into the cross country part, I must have been haemorrhaging time on the hills! Really struggled up the Kodak hill (and the others too!). Pretty slippery out there, but I still maintain that they exaggerate how 'treacherous' it is...

Happy with how I ran - there were times when I thought about taking it easy, but then pushed on. Struggled on the hills though. Ran strongly to the finish from the top of Kodak.

Got a massage after and had a lot of sore spots... Bring on an easy training week :)

Had the best cheer squad of Bakers, thanks guys :)

Approx splits:
3km 13'30
7km 32'30
15km 74'43

Riding 2:30:00 [2] 46.0 km (3:16 / km)

"A nice day out with enough exercise to call it training."

Beaut ride with CB1 - we both had an easy ride in mind so for once didn't get competitive :) (although Clare did burn me off up all the hills). Took the train to Diamond Creek and rode back in along the Diamond Creek and Main Yarra Trails. Not a drop of rain while we were out, which meant we were a bit overdressed.

Made a few stops along the way - Edendale Farm which is seems to be the CERES of the outer north, apart from the fact that there was no one there. Coffee/chai and cake break in Heidelberg. A bit of culture at the Heide sculpture garden.

Put my seat down an inch in Heidelberg and felt like I was riding a kids bike for a while, but then got used to it. Felt the hills more in my butt and lower back with the lower seat - not sure if that's a good thing or not?

I've done the ride from Eltham to the city one Full Moon Ride before, so it was nice to do it in daylight for a change!

Must have taken more out of me than I thought, because I was ready for a nap in the arvo.

Note

Pretty knackered today. Would love to go for a run in the dark to test out my new Ayups :) Hello daylight at night time!

Running 20:00 [4]

Morning Mona fartlek down the creek. Didn't feel super fast, but wasn't expecting to. Made it back with 15s to spare.

The kookaburras and the smiley, happy, friendly dog walker made my day.

Running 20:00 [2]

To the creek and back.

Running 36:08 [3] 6.3 km (5:44 / km)

Easy creek run. Legs felt tired from last night's session. Up the creek to the aths track, then over the little bridge and up the side of the pool. Back through Pentridge and got a little misplaced.

Let's see if I can back it up with a run in the morning...

Running 25:00 [2]

Warm up 10', warm down 15'.

Running 30:00 [4]

Awesome MFR Thursday night interval session.
Paarlauf (if it's spelt like German?) interval session. Paired with Rob - changing directions and alternating hard/easy each time we tagged.
I distinctly remember hearing the words 'I'm going to take it easy' coming out of my mouth before the session, but as usual it didn't happen.
Felt more confident running down the hill towards the end of the session which was nice (especially [or because?] this was the first week in the dark that I hadn't worn my ankle braces).
So much fun, love the MFR training. Made sure I got dinner before riding home so I didn't bonk half way :)
