Orienteering 1:04:00 [3]

Gundelfingen Club Champs. Started with 2 trail o controls with 45s penalty for wrong answers, most people got them both right though. Then had a 1km loop...too steep for me but nice with a little bit of snow left around. Then the real fun started with a longer loop. Was going ok (slowly) until 4-5 when things didn't seem to match up. I just assumed I was a bad orienteer. Finally realised that the map was all cut up and stuck back together. Can't believe how I didn't notice it earlier! Thought I'd worked out where I was then realised I hadn't. Never really got the hang of it and kept running into unexpected houses where there was 'meant to be' a field etc. Didn't find any of the controls that well either. Then almost got shot going past the rifle range.
Good fun though, and I think it was the first time I've run in that forest in daylight.
Mmmm...bbq afterwards, pav was a hit.

My face is even redder than usual after running.

Same hills and stairs bizzo as last week. Temp 1, feels like -2. Not sure why I was a full minute slower than last week??? Maybe it was just too cold for my legs to move quicker.

Gundelfingen training. Again no idea where we went but it involved a little bit of snow and a lot of slippery mud.

Very slow and sore run. Jumped in all the snow that was left (not much). Every muscle in my body is stiff...I'm blaming standing at the football in the freezingness for too long. At least my toes no longer hurt from the cold.
