Orienteering 1:03:53 [3] 5.4 km (11:50 / km)

Almost cracked the top 100 today...placed 101. Had my best run of the week, and was able to read the map. A bit scared going out as everyone had said it was similar to the first day, so actually picked a route to the first control this time. I found I could manage the navigation easily, just slow. Looking forward to the last stage tonight, then a rest :)

Orienteering 54:25 [3] 5.1 km (10:40 / km)

Wow...I came 111th today. Overran 1 and went too low on 8, legs still feeling rooted. But sooooooo cool with the chairlift/mountain view etc. etc. Got super excited running down a ski slope...it was so springy and good.

Orienteering 55:34 [3] 4.4 km (12:38 / km)

Moving up in the world...to 143. Only really mucked up 7, but legs were absolutely rooted before I even got to the start. The terrain at the start was really cool, and I took it very easy, but I only had 4 controls there before getting crossing the road to the wet stuff. Didn't make it above the tree line.

Just entered the Cerkno Cup in Slovenia, W21A. Was going to enter elites to get a world ranking, but decided that would be stupid. Now I've just got to find my way there.

Orienteering 58:00 [3] 3.8 km (15:16 / km)

Much happier with the run today. Still had a few moments where I had no idea where I was but I always seemed to luck upon the control. Pretty proud of 5...ran straightish and navigated the whole way, found a control where I expected to see one, and it was actually mine :)

Event: Oringen 2008

Orienteering 1:45:00 [3] 5.4 km (19:27 / km)

I fell in a hole and sat down and had a cry. It was so hard. I couldn't understand anything on the map. Had no sleep after travelling all day, getting to Salen at midnight and not having a mattress because a bloody Finn was on mine, getting to the event at 8.30 this morning for my 12.30 start time. Legs literally ready to collapse, so tired. Complain complain complain. Hoping tomorrow will be better, now that I've figured out what marsh and yellow are.
