Orienteering (Mt Korong) 1:03:00 [3] **** 5.0 km (12:36 / km)

Went out to Korong for some technical training with Jim. Bloody hard course crossing over the ridge 7 times. Was going ok (by Cliff Young's standards) for the first 30 mins then died some more. Navigation was ok as Jim seemed to be doing most of it! Visited lots of the control sites from Middle Distance champs on the west of the road.
Everything was hurting and tired - I'm blaming the bike last night.
Nice out though, even if we still didn't get the right road going in ;-)

Riding (nice road bike) 1:20:00 [3]

15 mins on the MTB to Keely's and back.
1:05 on the road bike around Tanners, Strathfieldsaye and Junourton. Struggled up the hill on McIvor and back along Reservoir Rd.

Riding warm up/down 20:00 [2] 5.6 km (3:34 / km)

To the Keely Gym and back.

Gym (rowing machine) 20:00 [3]

4x 5 min intervals - started with setting of 4, then went down by half a notch each interval so the last one was at 2.5

Gym (elliptical) 10:00 [2]

Had a play on the new toy.
3 mins after 2nd and 3rd rowing interval, then 4 mins after the last one.
Felt a bit weird, especially when I was going backwards at the start, but was good once I got going :-)

Street O race (Kennington) 57:07 [3] 10.1 km (5:39 / km)

Amazed I cracked the double figures on distance - must have measured it wrong! Felt rotten at the start and had to walk a bit, but then the panadol must have kicked in. Picked a pretty awesome route by chance (even though I dropped controls at the start - 4, 5, 6, 8; only the low pointers). Snuck a few walks towards the end, but Julie and Jo-Anne were around so that kept me going a bit. Felt ok coming into the finish :-) Shins gave the odd twinge, but were pretty good.

Running warm up/down 12:30 [3]

6'30 warm up, 6'00 warm down.
Felt bad in warm up and had to stop, breakfast was threatening to reappear. Wasn't expecting great things from intervals, and, well they weren't that good!

Running intervals (golf course fartlek) 22:30 [3] *

Didn't cover anywhere near as much distance as last week. Had a map of M21E middle distance champs and looked at that in recoveries. Recoveries were really slow because of this, which is probably the reason why I didn't die. Wasn't planning to run for as long, but hadn't finished the course yet! Couldn't face a DNF.
Why is it 25 degrees cooler than yesterday?
