Orienteering race (Fowl and Fizz) 58:44 [3] *** 5.3 km (11:05 / km)
17c

Ran my planned loop backwards because Dave and Jim said I was going the wrong way...
Was a bit off for a lot of the controls, concentration wasn't at its peak at that hour of the day. Was running out of time at the end and had to skip some controls I had planned to get.
56, 40, 36, 57, 34, 45, 50, 52, 51, 44, 46, 54, 35, 59, 47, 37, 33.

Controls spiked: 8
Controls I just happed to spot in peripheral vision or stumble on by accident: the rest

Anyone know what time on the clock we started? In true score event form I didn't start my watch until the 2nd control.

Note

Just measured course and can't believe I only went 5.3 km in an hour :-(

Riding (road bike) 1:13:00 [3] 29.0 km (2:31 / km)

14 mins on the MTB to Keely's and back.

59 mins out around the airport and White Hills with Jim, Jo-Anne, Bryan and Leon. Legs didn't want to go any further at about the old saleyards. Had cooled down a bit by the evening.

Riding warm up/down 19:00 [2] 5.5 km (3:27 / km)

Rode to Keely's and back.
9 mins there, 10 home...must have worked hard on the rowing machine ;-)

Gym (rowing machine) 20:00 [3]

4 x 5 mins of effort. Tried to make sure I was sitting up straight the whole time, but couldn't really tell.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

7'30 to the golf course and back. Stretched before intervals, and had to have a walk and stretch afterwards. By the end of the warm down was feeling much less like death, actually quite good.

Running intervals (golf course fartlek) 22:30 [3]

Started ok on the back 9, pushing up the hills and recovering on the downhills. Felt really exhausted by the ~18 min mark and it felt like efforts were at about recovery pace. Harder than golf. Shins good :)
