Orienteering race (Mt Tarrengower) 1:07:31 [3] **** 5.2 km (12:59 / km)
spiked:10/16c

This was the king of bad runs...read on for a blow by blow account:
1,2,4,6,9,10,12,13,14 were ok

3: very very not ok, didn't even see it on the map and ran from 2-4, realised once I got to 4
5: too far left, can't take bearings
7: went down to the road which I probably didn't need to do
8: thought one bit of white forest was another and ran too far
11: looking a couple of contours too low
15: just ran in the general direction until I found it
16: on a smaller than expected rock hidden in bushes...I was looking at the northern cliff in the circle I think
Finish: Absolute lack of concentration...left the control, found a track, assumed it was one it wasn't, ran down it, off to the left, then right, then found some houses and powerlines, thought they must have been the OOB ones, but ended up at the Bridgey-Maldon Rd.

Couldn't concentrate on the map and never took enough time to read anything. Legs felt really heavy too.

Maybe I'll have a better run next week :-)

Orienteering race 42:28 [3] ***
spiked:7/11c

Pretty bad run...legs were so heavy at the start, just felt like they had no energy to run, felt a bit better by no. 8.
Navigation wasn't good either, wasn't really focussed. My route from 5-6 seemed like a good idea at the time, doesn't look so flash after though. Got confused on the way to 10 as well, went off to the right. Sloppy on a few other controls too.

Riding 2:00:00 [3]

Dad made me promise last holidays to take him up Mt Herbert. This was it.
Everything hurts now. My calves are tight and my neck and shoulders are stiff (don't know whether it's due to Step on Monday or David's bike being too big, or both). Dad was supposed to be slow, but I couldn't keep up and he kept riding away from me.
I couldn't deal with the rocky tracks, either up or downhill.
But Dad said the view was 'absolutely magnificent.'

Riding warm up/down 45:00 [2]

Rode to intervals: was really slow once I got to the res because I had to find a hole. Then I got scared and saw a man walking past so went and did another loop.
Rode home and went down near the aths track on the way.

Running intervals 16:00 [4]

My version of Mona fartlek.

Was going ok at the start and made it just to the other side of the bridge.
I was so scared that Mr Coliban was going to see me and chase me and catch me and yell at me that I forgot to go hard for the first 45s interval. Oops.
Absolutely died on the way back and finished in the last gully about 30 seconds away from the start.
My shins were ok running, but got a bit sore when I went for a little warm down jog.
