Riding 1:14:00 [3] 22.5 km (3:17 / km)

Did Le Tour de Upfield Line...along the train line to Batman Stn. Probably quite nice if you're into that sort of industrial stuff ;-) Came back along the Merri Crk. Legs felt heavy to start with, loosened up later, helped by the fact that this was the flattest ride in history.

Running 40:00 [3]

No improvement from the last longish run I tried. I had to stop after 18 mins, and again after 29 as my legs (basically anything below the knee) were really tight. Stopped and stretched and massaged a bit, but didn't really help. Seemed to be better on uphills than down.

Went around Royal Park and back via Prinny. A really nice day, and I saw 2 weddings; one next door and one having photos at an intersection...

After the other bit I still wasn't home...I'd stopped so then just ran back really slowly

Gym (Step) 1:00:00 [3]

1/3 of the time I was out of time, 1/3 I was in time but using the wrong leg, the other 1/3 I was busy making up my own moves ;-)

Maybe I would improve with time...doubtable though!

Pretty fun nevertheless, and the instructor was better than Body Balance; this one acted as if she actually wanted to be there.

PS. Please don't ever ask me to move my arms and legs simultaneously in anything other than the running motion :-)

Rode with Dave once I found his house...yes, I turned one steet too early and wondered where the factory had gone...
Went along the Merri Crk, then to the pipe bridge, along the Yarra and Eastern Fwy to Burke Rd and back.
Calves were tight, and I almost couldn't make it up the hills.
Prawn crackers for lunch made me very happy :-)

Running warm up/down 17:00 [3]

11:30 warm up around the Crescent and the bottom bit of Prinny, then to the aths track. Was feeling ok at this stage.

5:30 warm down. This was all I could manage. Legs felt pretty tired and I had to stop and walk in the middle.

Running intervals (300m reps) 5:40 [4] 1.5 km (3:47 / km)

5x300m reps with walking recovery, uni aths track:
69, 68, 69, 68, 66
The first three felt really unco, like an elephant with my legs thumping down, then I thought I took it easier on the 4th to get rid of the elephant, but ended up with the same time... Felt a bit better on the last 2.
Things were a bit sore; the muscles on top of my shins felt tight, especially afterwards, and the bottom of my calves was tight too (could the two be related?) I just noticed my lower back feeling a bit tight between ints 3 and 4 too, not sore, but I think I'll keep an eye on it (as best I can seeing as though it's behind me ;-)

Note

The hills took their toll. Various muscles are stiff, but nothing life threatening. Shins seem ok :-)
