Ran around the res. Didn't make it out until 11 and it was too hot for me. Very slow for the second half, but managed to run up all the hills.

Hot (35oC) evening ride checking out start locations for my event next year. Getting on to it early after my nightmare last night when I was meant to be organising 2 street o events on the same night. It was very traumatic as I didn't have time to get all the controls out.

Similar run to Saturday's ride. Left it a bit late and was very hot and humid. Stopped a few times to tighten my shoes, pat the mad dog and have a wee. Hit the wall after about half an hour.

Quick little mountain bike up Diamond Hill chasing David (never caught him). Either the track along the res fence has got a lot rockier or my bike skills have disappeared (or both?). Used to only have to walk one little rocky bit, but was on and off a lot.

Running 2:30:45 [3] 21.74 km (6:56 / km) +477m 6:15 / km

Goldrush Trail Run. Weekend in the country with Jayne (+Glen for the latter part).

My longest run to date, I think. Was regretting things a bit when there was a big queue up after about 600m to get onto the single track and when pigtail lady was oblivious to the people building up behind her.

The first half of the race was beautiful single track. I passed people the whole time - often catching them in technical bits when I couldn't pass, before they sped up a bit on the flat.

Hit the wall a bit at the lake - people pulled away from me here (but noone passed me :) ). It seemed like such a slog (and was much further around than I expected). Got caught in the start of the 11km as they were sent off just before I got there. Ran into (not quite literally) Louise.

Found the second half tougher as I was tiring and there was more on vehicle tracks. Struggling on the hills. Leading 11km runners came past me at about 20km - they were pretty quick!

Back onto single track at the end, and went past Sailor's Falls (think that's the first time I've seen it), up a hill, past water bottle girl, and took on someone for a sprint finish (got 'em).

n I'm orienteering, compared to a lot of other people I am a mountain goat.

Nice, well organised trail run.

GPS to be added when my watch is back from its extended holiday.

Running 42:00 [3]

Trying out new trail shoes (Salomon Speedcross). Not convinced I like them. Stopped about 4 times to tighten them, which then made my feet sore.

Also ran through some grass which is making my legs feel like fire now I'm home.

And got tooted at by some dickwads. Leave me alone.

Felt good for the first few mins of the run, then average, but a bit better towards the end.

Sprint training at Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar.

Forgot my compass. Got caught out a lot by the fake fences (ran through some without realising). Ran the first course again backwards and still made mistakes.

Really tired at work and couldn't face a run. Went out on the bike instead and enjoyed it. Very pleasant evening.

Not a lot of training this weekend, although I was on the bike for over 2 hours yesterday going places.
