Orienteering 31:00 [3]

Went out and got the control I missed yesterday :) Can I be reinstated?

Did some of the last loop - the bit I missed near home in reverse, and the very final loop, which rather confused me last night.

Legs felt VERY slow and tired.

Orienteering 1:14:00 [3] 8.0 km (9:15 / km)

Bendigo Night Champs. Diamond Hill.

Joked before the race that I had the women's championship sewn up - as long as I finished. Then failed to do so.

Did enjoy the race though. Felt like I was running quite well on the tracks. Some navigation was a bit scrappy, especially the bit where I skipped 22. Does explain why I was so wrong on 23.

Pretty nice to be able to walk to the start of a championship event :)

Running 20:00 [3]

Feeling off in the stomach and exhausted the last 2 days so only went out for a short jog round the streets.

Monday Jul 25, 2016 #

Core strength/stretching 10:00 [1]

Core exercises.

Sunday Jul 24, 2016 #

Running 1:00:00 [3] 9.8 km (6:07 / km)

Longer run for a change.

Home > Moreland Rd, up the creek all the way to the Lake > back through Pentridge.

Legs were a bit sore at the start (right shin, left hip) but felt a bit better towards the end.

Running warm up/down 31:30 [3]

Running 5:30 [4]

6 x Coburg hills.

Figured that as I'm following Jim's training recommendation of only training once a week, I should add an extra hill. Legs feeling ok.

Riding 1:30:00 [3]

Home to orienteering, up hill into a head wind. Woodlands is bigger than I remembered.

Orienteering 53:08 [3] 7.3 km (7:17 / km)

MelBushO at Woodlands. Legs unsurprisingly had little zip in them. Didn't feel good running until the downhill to the finish.

Saved all my training for Sunday after not doing much yesterday. Did got for a long walk though, which was pretty tiring.

Riding 1:20:00 [3]

Ride home down hill (although it was a struggle to get out of the Moonee Ponds Creek valley) with a tail wind :)

Core strength/stretching 10:00 [1]

Roll and stretch tired legs.

Thursday Jul 14, 2016 #

Running 33:00 [3]

Harding, creek, Murray Rd and back through the gaol on pretty dead legs.

Core strength/stretching 10:00 [1]

Bit of core and squats. Tough after running!

Tuesday Jul 12, 2016 #

Running 4:35 [4]

5 x Coburg hills. Was tempted to do an extra one but didn't want to push it. Nice brisk evening :)

Running 27:25 [3]

Warm up to lake, recoveries and warm down home.

Saturday Jul 9, 2016 #

Orienteering 54:49 [3] 6.3 km (8:42 / km)

Plod around the nice bush at Kimbolton. Was pretty slow. Drifted off towards 3. Had to stop for a while to help someone (took twice as long because I told her the wrong spot the first time), and then followed Ted for the last bit.

Thursday Jul 7, 2016 #

Running 20:00 [3]

Short little jog through the streets. Feel like I'm either coming down with or have an annoying little cold.

Wednesday Jul 6, 2016 #

Core strength/stretching 15:00 [1]

Core

Tuesday Jul 5, 2016 #

Running 4:35 [4]

5 x Coburg Lake hills. Again. 3 weeks in a row :)

Almost bailed twice - first when looking at the radar and seeing the rain coming, then again when realising I could already hear the rain on the roof. But now I don't have to do them tomorrow :)

First one felt pretty hard, but eased into it.

Running 28:25 [3]

To the Lake and back.

Monday Jul 4, 2016 #

Core strength/stretching 10:00 [1]

Foam roll

Sunday Jul 3, 2016 #

Riding 20:00 [3]

Home to Nth Melbourne Station.

Riding 1:30:00 [3]

Keilor Plains Station > Brimbank Park and down down down the Maribynong to Kensington.

Didn't realise how much of the path would be gravel, but it was fine for the Purple Peril. Really nice and quiet and pleasant out in the upper part. Too many people on the path closer in to town, including Bill Shorten's media pack (Bill was yet to arrive).

Beautiful day.

Riding 20:00 [3]

Home after the most unsatisfying lunch ever. Ordered a mushroom pie which turned out to be meat and mushroom. It was generously replaced with a lukewarm vegie pastie.

Running 45:30 [3] 7.92 km (5:45 / km)

Went out for a late arvo jog. Up to the lake, as far as Carr St and back along the Merri. Legs feeling ok, huffing and puffing a bit up the hills. Much shorter line to vote at 5.30pm, but the bbq had packed up so it's a trade off.
