Orienteering 19:13 [3] 2.0 km (9:37 / km)

Orientshow race 1. 25th
Legs felt REALLY bad. Didn't enjoy this race much. Navigation was fine though at that pace.

Orienteering 33:05 [3] 3.1 km (10:40 / km)

Hagaby, race 2. 12th place (I'm taking the first set of results)
More my kind of race than the first one. SLOW and steady. Navigation was ok.

Orienteering 46:52 [3] 3.6 km (13:01 / km)

Orientshow race 3. 10th place.
My mind started to get a bit hazy and I don't think I always remembered to orienteer. Got pretty confused going to the 2nd pivot control working out where I actually had to go.

Took Red Rocket (aka Dad's new bike) for a spin around Diamond Hill. Hurt my finger on a bush a bit. Bike was good, bit big for me though...

So things aren't looking too good for the Orientshow. Legs felt baaaad and my knee started to hurt after about 8 mins, so cut the planned run short. Knee felt a bit better so just did a loop around to make up the 30 mins.

Just read the embargoes for Easter - don't think it will affect me too much as I can't get further than Diamond Hill...

Orientshow Training, Week 1.

Powered out the Tannery Lane loop. Smashed it. Nice day for a ride. Increase in usual speed due to the fact that I used all the gears on my bike and not just one cog. What a revelation!

Legs were like lead. Usual run, but in reverse. Still got a bit of a cold, thanks David.

Spin out along Tanners and Guys Hill Rd. I think I have a start of a cold, and didn't like the smoke from a controlled burn along Guys Hill Rd.

Didn't really make any mistakes, just a few wobbles. Can't run though. In last place by the time I got to the first control...

NOL Sprint, Ballarat Uni. Just plodded round. Got confused coming out of 4. Didn't realise I'd be that far down the placings.

Orienteering 40:38 [3] 4.0 km (10:10 / km)

Best run of the weekend. Just plodded around again, but I wasn't as far back because it was technical. Mostly clean.

Despite this being conducted in jeans, it counts as training as I went further than I needed to (a lap around Lake Weeroona). Lots of traffic lights.

Failed Juvenile. At various times my ears, hands, shoulders, lower back and left hip hurt. And my eyes, nose and mouth were running. Went Burns St, DH Rd, KG Rd then turned left and headed straight home.

That's a time to improve on. Struggled a fair bit at times. Included a few hills to see if one day they get easier :)
