Orienteering 33:00 [3] 3.3 km (10:00 / km)

Ran the same course from Vic Middle Distance champs. Faster than last time - better route to 6 (didn't go over the hill this time) but still had trouble with 14 (couldn't make sense on anything once I got close).

Orienteering 32:00 [3] 2.9 km (11:02 / km)

Last training for 2006. Course 7 from middle champs backwards. Ok except for the 4th control (14) where I came out of green and didn't know exactly where I was. Decided I need a fast-acting fitness program so I'll be ok for the 5-days...

Felt terrible and walked most of the way. The running was mainly to get home slightly quicker. Had no motivation to run - really needed to Chopper-up.

Rode REALLY slowly up OTH and around a bit on the other side. One moment of minor panic on the way home when my feet decided they'd probably be safer if they simultaneously removed themselves from the pedals.

With Dave and Jim, around the Nth slopes of OTH, and onto Wildflower Drive, back home via Guys Hill. Threw in a couple of surges to keep me on my toes.

Middle of the run-ride-run. Went around the res.

Running (run-ride-run) 38:00 [3] 6.7 km (5:40 / km)

Ran up (but not right over) and around Diamond Hill with David to start- 26 mins. Still felt short of breath and walked for about a min after 12 mins. Started to feel a little better on the way down. ~4.5km

A little loop just near home afterwards, had a few short hills which I struggled up- 12 mins. ~2.1km

This felt like the slowest ride in the history of bicycles. Legs were dead. Oh well.

5 min warm up.

Afterwards went back to check out 10-11 and then went round with David for a bit looking at the scary single track.

Did women's sprint from Deaflympics at Little Bendigo. David put out toilet paper, Aislinn and Roch ran too. Got a bit confused by the tracks and scale on the way to #1, misread the feature 8 was on; should have checked clues, spent ages crashing round in gorse looking for 11. Got a bit over half way on this leg to an adit, didn't check compass and made two mounds leading into the gorse fit the 2 mounds I was supposed to be going towards.

Gym 1:00:00 [2]

Went up to Golden Square to use the accy gym. Numerous items of equipment broken, probably by year 8's, but I managed to occupy myself. Did about 15 mins cycling and just tried out the other stuff for the rest. Very unstructured and not terribly exciting :-)

Around the sides of OTH and Wildflower Drv maps, then back home past Kenny Res. Legs gave up after 30 mins.

Slow run up Diamond Hill and back the short way. Legs feeling really heavy and calves too tight. Calves were slightly better than Friday when I almost fell over after getting out of bed.

My first introduction to the boneseed. Mucked up a few controls and took a while to get used to the greenery.

Orienteering 44:00 [3]

Couse 6 from the state series, except skipping 3 and 4. Had trouble with 6 and 9 (got pushed around by the green).

Did the short leg of the star relay without a compass. I liked the map with just the rocks, but drifted too far left on the 2nd control.

Orienteering race (Sprint O Champs) 23:09 [4] 3.2 km (7:14 / km)

Pretty average run; went the wrong way round a building to 6, very wrong to 9, could have also been better to 8, 12, 13 (went 1st bridge) and 14. Died after my adventures at 9. Took the sensible option of going around the car park fences from 3-4 ;-)

Went for a ride clockwise around the res. Pretty windy out, but wasn't in the wrong direction for most of the time.

Rode up Diamond Hill 3 times as Mum thought I'd get hit by a car if I rode on the road in the smoke. Probably a fair assessment of my riding ability. Was feeling ok, took about 5 mins up the hill each time.

Went back out to Brown's Reef, and around on some single track there for about 30-35 mins. Way too hard and I ended up walking up half the rocky hills (and down some). Wasn't riding very hard for most of the ride.

Pretty cruisy ride around the side of OTH, back via Kenny Res and the uni. Legs felt a bit dead and it was a bit warm out.

Riding intervals 43:00 [3] 14.5 km (2:58 / km)

Went out on the bike and did some intervals. Had 10 mins warm up, then did 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3 on and half recovery. Last interval was a killer as my speedo decided to stop working, so it was definitely longer than 3 mins. Then about 15 mins warm down (saw the biggest dog I've ever seen in my life...bigger than a small horse!)

Rode hard for the first 30 mins as I was running late to meet a friend for a ride. Met up and went out Brown's Reef somewhere, ended up on Rocky Rises Rd. Nice to just ride with no idea where we were going, will have to go out there again soon. Was with Julie for about 50 mins then went home the long way, via Allingham St, Sheltons Rd and Diamond Hill. Legs were buggered after about 90 mins.
