Harding St, creek to Newlands Rd and back through the gaol.

Legs struggling up any slight incline but felt ok otherwise. Managed to miss the sunshine and went in the dark :(

4 x hill reps at Coburg Lake. It's been a loooong time since I did anything resembling intervals, so just did a few to remind myself how it works.

Run to Coburg Lake and back. A bit stop-start with traffic lights. Feeling ok. Still trying to keep cadence high as the physio recommended - seems to be going ok.

Upfield, Ring Road, Merri loop.

Felt very slippery out, even on the concrete paths - I must be a bit of a wuss. Didn't go very fast.

But did ride into town afterwards so there's another hour of riding I'm not counting.

Kooyoora long.

Very happy with my decision to change down to course 3. Even that was a bit too far given the crappy terrain we went in to.

Navigation was ok. Not sure if I made the right decision to go out and around to 3 to try and avoid the thickest green because it was still pretty junky. Struggled getting up the slab to 6 and was pretty tentative on all 4s.

Orienteering 1:09:32 [3] 5.28 km (13:10 / km) +159m 11:27 / km

Kooyoora middle.

Was feeling good at the start, but my feet went out from under me leaving 3 and I managed to clonk my head. Sat and had a cry for a few minutes, then decided I didn't want to pull out at Kooyoora. Got up to keep going and realised that most of my compass was still on the ground.

Spent the next few controls walking then got into a jog where I could. A training exercise in compass-free navigation when you're worried about concussion.

Legs weren't really working and were a bit sore. Shins felt a bit tight. Also didn't make the best choice of controls. This time it was Jayne's turn to get caught out with the 'late' penalty.
