Run up what's left of the bush from home. Legs felt really slow on the hills at the start, but slightly better towards then end.

Orienteering (not Orientshow) 1:24:11 [3] 7.5 km (11:13 / km)

Newer St Mungo. Didn't quite have the dream run I had here in 2006. I think that still remains the best run I've ever had. Took a fair while to work out the mapping. Went out to tracks/roads whenever I could. Walked between 8 and 12 because I was feeling off in the guts. Legs weren't feeling so fresh. How do I get faster?

Streets run. Down to Moreland Stn, then down Sydney to Stewart St and back up De Carle. Legs were feeling pretty tired. Did 10x 30s on 30s off in the middle.

Took my gear for dragon boating to work, but was feeling knackered all day. Came home instead.

Not sure why I log the short ride to and from training, but none of the other cycling.

Running 30:00 [3]

Warm up, drills, a bit of core, warm down.

Running 8:59 [3] 2.0 km (4:30 / km)

2km on the bike path to start. Meant to be 10k pace, but I doubt I could keep that up for 10k.

Running 15:52 [3]

Just over 15 mins of intervals: on the grass, out and back to 3 lights, going hard on the way out and slow jog on the way back.

I think I overcooked it on the 2k, because I was struggling a bit.

Riding 1:30:00 [3]

Melburn-Roobaix 2013. As reported by the Age "the most fun you can have on 2 wheels". Spent about 5 hours on the bike total for the day, about 60km and lots of waiting/lunch. Didn't actually enter so just rode with people, and ended up skipping 3 sections of pavé in Flemington. Awesome day. The weather couldn't have possibly been any better. Planning to enter next year, provided I can think of a good enough costume.

Run up the creek and back through the gaol. Took the Kelland Rd map but couldn't make much sense of it.

Easy run down to Moreland stn and back up Sydney Rd, taking in the sights and sounds of Coburg. The sweet smell of hookahs, Indian groceries where I can't shop because the mild curries are way too spicy, the imaginatively named 'Middle Eastern Restaurant', the Bird Boarding and Services store, Coburg Market where I requisitioned a polystyrene box to become part of my vegie garden. Sure beats the car yards further up Sydney Rd where I used to live.

Went back to dragon boats after a break of a few months. Probably feel it tomorrow.

Back out in the park.

Did 4x about 2' on the path first.

Then 7x about 2' on the grass, slightly undulating. Each rep had a little walk at either end. Ankle a little sore.

Missed the warm up so just did some drills and a little bit of warm down.

Running late, saw everyone out on the bike path doing the warm up as I was going there.

Token run to make up for not doing anything at the weekend as I was feeling like poop. Ankle feels a little sore again.

Went for a run around the streets with my housemate. Took it in turns deciding when to turn. Legs felt a bit weary.

Longer warm up than usual, drills, warm down.

Out in the park as the track is being resurfaced. I prefer it to the track!

Did a bit of a loop x 6, with a bit of a hill at the end and slow jog recovery.

Then 6 x 15" hills.

Ankle held up ok, was a little sore by the end (had it strapped up).

Waipoua Forest Kauri walks. It was raining and I couldn't be bothered walking to visit all the trees, so ran instead. Beautiful forest, and amazing big kauris.

Bombay Quarry. Can't find my map but that's no great loss. I swear the map was missing a few contours. Ankle was a bit sore after 2 days of running. Too steep for me today (and for the rest of the weekend).

Karioitahi. Happier with the run today. Felt stronger physically . But still a long way off the pace :( Went a fair way north through some cows out of 4 on the way to 5 - trying to avoid climb, but not sure if I actually did.

Orienteering 54:05 [3] 4.2 km (12:53 / km)

Kelland Rd. Disgraced Australia. Struggled a fair bit from the first longer leg. No strength to go up the hills, and not confident on the ankle going down them. Also a bit scrappy on a few controls - not quite reading the detail.
