Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

Club Champs/Christmas party. Team-O same as in Switzerland except with teams of 2, and at night. I was ok when the controls were nice and reflective... Probably didn't split up the course the best. Legs had absolutely no zip in them.

Running 33:00 [3]

Warm down from the race on Sunday. That's how it works right? To the start of the Danube and back through the park. Legs feeling pretty wrecked.

So much more comfortable on the train on the way home - booked a seat but only 2 of us in the compartment so could lie down anyway.

Orienteering 1:37:47 [3] 8.2 km (11:55 / km)

AMAZING! Was really looking forward to the race :) Had later starts and saw Fel out running on our way to the event. Terrific atmosphere as everyone was just there to have a good time. Legs felt pretty wrecked right from the start. Didn't make too many mistakes - lost a bit of time on 6 looking at a fountain that wasn't in the middle of the circle. Took a massively wide route from 14 (map change) on the long leg to avoid Rialto, but may have over done it? Still, meant I got to tick off an extra bridge.

Such a fun race. Would love to go again. Amazing how you could be in the thick of the tourist area, then go around a corner and be completely alone (before an orienteer appears around the corner and over the bridge :) )

Orienteering 27:21 [3] 3.9 km (7:01 / km)

Venice Park-O. In love with the city, what a mind-boggling place! Spent yesterday wandering around getting lost :)

Moonlight run on the Buchberg. Got a bit lost. Did a few intervals along the way. Off to Venice this arvo :)

Running 21:00 [3]

Can't really remember but I think I went for a run on the Buchberg. Have problems remembering to start my watch after stopping it.

Orienteering 58:04 [3]

Swiss Team-OL champs. Very confused by the format - I thought it was a relay. Team of 3, one course, one SI which had to complete the course but could be carried by anyone. Control 7 and the last one the team had to be together. I just ran where I was told to. Wasn't navigating very well - mucked up 8 fairly badly when I had the SI. Plan came unstuck when we arranged to meet at the 2nd last instead of the last - there go those 2 seconds we missed the win by... Very glad not to be running elites!

Good day out, the Swiss do the organisation well. Just a pity everything is so spread out and you don't actually get to see any of the event (remote start/finish/change room halls)

Note

Hard core caving in the Falkensteiner Höhle for our work outing. After three and a half hours of full gumboots my legs were ready to give way. Oh and my arms were pretty tired too! Pretty cool :) :)

9pm jog by the moonlight on the Buchberg

Riding 1:30:00 [3]

Public holiday :) Went along the Danube a little, then headed up Fürstenberg. Pretty nice up there - some people were paragliding, the sun was shining and you could see the Alps and Feldberg.
