Orienteering 53:02 [3] 5.2 km (10:12 / km)

SA Middle Champs.

Possibly my first contribution to the Vic NOL team all season!

Aislinn caught me 2 minutes on #1 - hadn't got my head in the map and wasn't sure what was a spur/gully, and hadn't looked what the control was actually on. She didn't wait for me. Liv passed me on the way to 6, and saw a fair bit of her for the rest of it. Thought I'd snuck past her again on 10, but I was looking too far down the spur. Damn.

Lots of hills and rocks and fun.

Orienteering 1:21:00 [3]

Aus Long Champs.

Didn't manage to make it out during the week (was keen for the coaches race on Thurs, but was stuck listening to Blair's dulcet tones online back at the accommodation). Wasn't really feeling up to 11 k, but really wanted to see the wildflowers.

Felt like I didn't really have my head in it at the start - I think I felt more tired at the end of the rest day than before. Hit the wall big time!

Possibly would have finished, if the final loop didn't involve a big hill. Although my hammy was starting to get a bit niggly, so probably best that I stopped.

Wildflowers were worth it, and I got to see most of the terrain types. Couldn't help myself chuckling when I came across the wedding set up at the spectator control.

Orienteering 19:03 [3]

Aus Sprint Champs

Raced a little bit more today :) Missed seeing a gap in the false fence on the way to 2 and 4 (same fence, was kind of obscured by the line between controls). Went out and around the buildings the long way to 12. Otherwise ok - just need to be faster!

Orienteering 1:06:36 [3] 5.8 km (11:29 / km)

Aus Relay Champs

2nd leg for an incomplete team.

Liis handed over to me in first (that wasn't meant to happen!!). Navigation was pretty fine (apart from slightly overrunning 4). Really struggled getting in and out of the erosion - it was neverending and so deep! Slow again. Was happy when Aislinn went past me because it meant the world was back in order with the #1 team leading.

Event: AOC2018

Orienteering 1:00:47 [3] 5.0 km (12:09 / km)

Aus Middle Distance Champs

Wasn't sure about running this, but really wanted to see the terrain, so went out for a jog. Physio had warned me off racing with the possibility of making my hammy worse :( Would have been fun to race!

Navigation was pretty good (except number 5, where I stopped way too soon). So slow. Hadn't expected it to be that sandy!
