Sunday Feb 28 #

9 AM

Cycling 2:34:54 [3] 61.11 km (2:32 / km)

Out through the Forest to Lover, across to Dean and then back through Romsey.
Cold wrists and feet, stopped in Brook put on extra gloves and sorted out the long sleeves. Really cold feet in Whiteparish. Wish I had worn my overshoes. Kind of thought Fridays ride was okay but this ride started a good couple of hours earlier and didn't warm up as much. Legs felt pretty good bar one section of rough road. Adjusted my cleat position and stiffness after the ride.

Saturday Feb 27 #

10 AM

Running 45:47 [3] 8.64 km (5:18 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Paradox 5 2021

Sports Centre to Lordswood
Out through the golf course, over the motorway and then back through the woods. Still finding bits that I think I have never been to! Did a fairly good job of avoiding some mud until one section which was horrendous. Makes such a difference driving a small way and getting all of the running in nice places.

Friday Feb 26 #

11 AM

Cycling long 3:35:15 [3] 87.28 km (2:28 / km)

Day off lap of the Forest in the sun
Out through Bramshaw, Bolderwood, Burley, Boldre and Beaulieu
Such good conditions and really felt like we had earnt this after all of the cold and challenging winter rides.

Legs felt better towards the end than they have done. Of the 4 long rides i have done over 70km, this one was the longest and I felt the best. Some of the others I have been cramping up on the way back. First time experimenting with some Torq energy drink (they recommend 60g of carb per hour, of which 500ml of their drink provides 30g).

Ate a brunch bear from 45-90 mins, another cereal bar at Burley 100mins, 750ml of Torq throughout the ride, half a Brunch bar 140mins and 160mins sausage bap, other half and some brownie.

Could feel some tightness in my left hamstring and need to adjust the cleats. Think they are too far back and not putting pressure in the correct place. Back and neck a little sore at times but way better than my ride with Nick.

Yoga/Stretching/S&C 50:00 [1]

Stretching post walk in the Forest. Always get some weird tightness after wearing my heavy boots, inner thigh near the knee.

Wednesday Feb 24 #

4 PM

Running 1:06:21 [3] 10.9 km (6:05 / km)
shoes: X-Talon 212 2020

Post work Fritham run with John
Really great to get out to the Forest again. Always enjoy running with John. I was feeling much fitter than I did yesterday and felt relatively strong over the heather. Nice to get out to the expanses of the N Forest and see some views and not many people.

Got to the sports centre and some mud and realised I felt absolutely knackered. Didn't feel good and felt like the legs didn't want to move
