Farley Mount orienteering + WU/WD
Goal was to get out and enjoy it, running around in the santa hat. Just the one control on the bit I helped survey!
A bit wiggly to control 2, didn't have a good plan and didn't really use the compass (it was properly scrappy). Poor to 11, took a rough bearing across the green and then was drawn in searching with all the other people. Felt quite tired the second half.

Upham and Owlesbury explore
Exploring a new area. Definitely benefiting from the Garmin navigation, though it turned itself off when I got to the route start. I think it got confused and thought I had finished the route. Restarted later on and then the directions worked better. Pretty wet on the road and from the sky and a bit windy. Back a little achey by the end and a little tired.

Running 28:42 [3] 5.0 km (5:44 / km)

Finishing for Christmas with a Greenways loop
This year I have run on the Greenways about 40 times (and walked on it many more), last year I ran on it 0 times. Definitely the muddiest of the year.

Same loop as last week
Avenue, Chilworth, Baddesley, Toothill, Lee Lane
Wasn't sure whether to go out as had a lunchtime social, glad I did. Working a little harder as I knew Nicole had improved on last week's time by 2mins.

Almost got taken out by a police chase! Cruising along Lee Lane as you do when I heard some sirens. I just assumed they were on the motorway. Next thing I know I'm going round a bend and a 4*4 type is coming at me fast on my side of the road. I throw my bike into the gutter. Three police cars then come blazing past! Glad I wasn't further down where the road is narrower :O

Wessex Night League Martin Down
Quite a rough area with lots of spikey plants! Done over by the first control being in the wrong place... Was a bit distracted at the started and didn't have a bombproof plan, a few extra unmapped bushes and I wasn't sure. Reattacked it at the end and took a solid bearing, got to where I was earlier and no control. Then went to a different thicket and found it.
Quite a bleak area with rain and really rough underfoot. Fairly happy with my overall sequence and was ticking them off okay. Some people went wandering a lot!
