Reps: 6*2mins (1min) + WU/WD
Jog with Shaun to the fields behind the Scout Hut, drizzly rain. Did my normal ish warm up routine of some drills and a few strides. A bit slippy in places. My first session in June time when I got a bit frustated with how things were going and decided to have the summer running how I wanted (before getting fatigued and then having a few trips to the mountains). Felt okay doing the reps, funny to be working harder again. I am not sure how much harder I could have pushed myself but also mayeb could have taken it a little easier for the first session back. No niggles until the jog back through the woods

Wessex Night League Poole 2nd +1:52 on Nick
First night league of the season and have wanted to run on the Poole map for a while. A fair way to go and had a plan of getting the train via a bit of cycling. Looked like quite a lot of people out and quite a few people who looked quick ish. Nick was down and knew he'd give me a run for my money, but was hoping he was tired after the weekend. Gave myself a few seconds to decide on the overall route. Jason had warned that it would be a 'landscape' map and would involve crossing the railway. He thought it would be 10.5km or so which is definitely longer than we ran! Made a small mistake to number 1, got the wrong side of the wall which allowed Dan to catch me (apaprently everyone behind me at the start copied my direction). Then a few technically easy controls with a lot of running, skipped 1 which may have been better to have done earlier. Decided to loop back across the railway and had to go over the steps as the barriers were down. Saw Nick at this point but kept working. The housing estate controls could have been more technical and the control by the water was pretty hidden. Knew I would easily clear so started to push the pace for the last 5 or so controls, navigating okay enough. A few times the area didn't look as I had imagined (not done any urban O for a while maybe + in the dark?) Head torch on middle brightness, a bit of glare when reading the map. Physically felt good especially the fast finish, couldn't feel my niggles. Just need to nav a little faster, hesitate a bit less and run faster! Many more events of the league to go...
