Running 40:57 [3] 7.87 km (5:12 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Paradox 4 2018

Chilworth and Lordswood loop
Legs feeling pretty achey after yesterday's race and a lot of time insulating the loft. Quite a nice loop on larger trails, parked at the sports centre to avoid the roads. Quite a nice day.

Running race 39:45 [5] 9.16 km (4:20 / km)
shoes: X-Talon 212 2016

HXCL Aldershot- 121st
My first proper race of the year and definitely my first xc for a while. Had run a few running races this year but this was the hardest I have pushed myself. Spent the morning insulating the loft which wasn't the best prep (crouching and breathing in dust!) Spectated the women's races in the the heavy rain, tried to look after Nicole then got warmed up. Legs did not really feel like running on the warm up. Plan was to try and not go off too fast (despite it being a flat and fast start). As you do, went off a little fast, then tried to settle down. Could feel my legs feeling tired on the medium lap and wondered how hard I was going to crash. Kept trying to work and pushed at different bits. Saw Peat and Nicole nearing the end of the lap and that spurred me on. Tried to work harder on the last lap and caught a Stubbtington guy, he seemed to be moving okay so we tried to work together to close the gap. We gradually did that and picked off a couple more. Managed to get past him despite feeling a bit tired and held off anyone to the line. Had two guys just ahead but the last field was pretty muddy and I had very little left. Happy with my race and performance. Enjoyed the course and conditions. I had slightly forgotten how hard you have to work in a xcountry race!

shoes: Mizuno Paradox 4 2018

Hills: 10 mins of Ridgemount + WU/WD
I forgot how hard they were... 5 reps in total (didn't do the steep one twice). Tried to stick with Sarah but she was moving well and sometimes started higher than I do. Bit of a disrupted start to the session but glad to get it done. Didn't do the full session as I may race the Hants League on Saturday.
