Mountain Biking 2:05:04 [2] 16.87 mi (8.1 mph) +593m
slept:7.5

Wasn’t quite sure whether to call this mountain biking or not... on my mountain bike but taking the road all the way up to hyalite reservoir. The climb was a grind, especially once we hit the parts of the road that still had snow/slush. Quads and butt were hurting. Absolutely beautiful ride though!

Hiking 1:55:58 [1] 3.51 mi (33:02 / mi) +262m 26:49 / mi

The goal was to climb Blackmore peak, but after the ride just to get up to the trailhead, that was clearly too ambitious. Went to Blackmore lake (from the reservoir) instead.

Mountain Biking 53:50 [1] 17.41 mi (19.4 mph) +45m

So much fun on the way down! It took just over 20 minutes to ride down to the gate where the road was closed off, which took so much incredibly longer on the way up. There was a harsh headwind though, which was a bit of a bummer because going really fast down would have been a blast. Took a quick stop in the last part to check out a new house under construction.

Sweating by the end because this was a rapid flow, but it was a lot of repetition which made it really boring.

Running warm up/down 19:05 intensity: (51 @1) + (6:25 @2) + (11:49 @3) 2.14 mi (8:55 / mi) +12m 8:46 / mi

Running race 21:16 intensity: (1 @1) + (16 @2) + (59 @3) + (14:35 @4) + (5:25 @5) 3.06 mi (6:57 / mi) +72m 6:29 / mi

Bozeman Without Borders 5k. Essentially all uphill for the first half and all downhill for the second half. I’m pretty happy with how this went since I was able to keep pushing myself mentally through the second half of the race rather than relaxing on the downhill. I definitely started out too hard (with Siri and the girl who won), but I dialed it back early enough that it wasn’t too much of a problem. Small race but I was the 4th woman.

Running warm up/down 5:47 intensity: (2:07 @2) + (3:40 @3) 0.5 mi (11:34 / mi)
ahr:142 max:153 shoes: Asics Gel-Excite 4 - Blue (#2)

Baby cool down right after the race

Running warm up/down 23:39 intensity: (11 @1) + (7:17 @2) + (16:11 @3) 2.18 mi (10:51 / mi) +20m 10:33 / mi
ahr:141 max:151 shoes: Asics Gel-Excite 4 - Blue (#2)

And a longer cool down back (with a sloshy stomach after post-race drinks :/ )

ahr:146 max:180 slept:8.0

I joined Siri for her hill workout. I wasn’t super focused, and definitely thought we had two more to go when there was only one more left until Siri told me otherwise. I should have pushed harder. Tomorrow is a 5k that I signed up for last-minute though, so I’ll be racing that. 6x ~300m intervals, first 100m more uphill and last 200m somewhat more flattish (although very much still uphill). Did this on the very north trail of Peet’s, coming from Lindley park.

Post A&P lab practical sunset run along the southern trails. I saw and heard lots of red-winged blackbirds — my favorite birds!
