Running 50:00 [3] 6.0 mi (8:20 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

Drug park. My right calf has been really tight all week, which is something it's been doing for a while now whenever I start to run again. I've been stretching it and rolling it out, and I hope it'll be feeling better by the end of next week.

Strength 6:00 [3]

Coach Megan's 6-minute core routine.

Running tempo 1:03:48 [4] 7.76 mi (8:13 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

It was my turn to give the senior speech. Afterwards a freshman told me it was sub-par. I glared at him.

Warm up was 2 laps and down to Ron Regis. The workout today was ~3 mile tempo run, out and back from Ron Regis. We were supposed to slowly build up throughout the distance, but I started out too fast so it became more evenly paced throughout. Nevertheless, I maintained a sub 7:00 mile pace for the entire tempo. Cool down was heading back to Liberty--up the nearly mile-long hill. Needless to say, I was crawling up it.

Strength 5:00 [3]

Butterfly kicks, crunches, scissor kicks, Russian twists, leg lifts.

Running 55:45 [3] 6.85 mi (8:08 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

I think I finally led stretches correctly today, having forgotten to do a couple of stretches both on Monday and Tuesday. We ran Lake Kathleen, and Sam and I kept up with the first group of runners. Stretched when back at school, 4 buildups, then 1 mile cooldown on the turf.

Strength 5:00 [3]

Planks and crunches, led by Gabe today.

Running intervals 57:12 [4] 6.38 mi (8:58 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

The first track workout of the season, and I did the whole thing (I think that's the first time that's ever happened for the first workout of a season). Workout was 800m, 800m, (1 lap rest) 600m, 600m, (2 laps rest) 400m, 400m.

2 mile warmup (Mini park) & buildups
800m 3:02 (90, 92)
800m 3:07 (95, 92)
600m 2:18 (92)
600m 2:18 (92)
400m 84
400m 86
1 mile cooldown (through the Johnson woods)

Coach thought maybe I should be going through the 800's at 90's. After the first 800 I realized it'll still be a week or two before I'm there. It was good to get back into pacing.

shoes: Asics GT-1000 4

First day of track! There are only 4 senior girls this year (but I'm still hoping a few more will return). Just starting my senior year of track is a weird feeling, and I know everything is going to move by so quickly from now until the fall. I don't even know where I'm going to be in the fall yet!

Anyways, it was a good run (DQ) and good to be back in the track season. Tomorrow is the first workout and the plan is 800s, 600s, 400s.

Strength 5:00 [3]

5 min planks with the majority of the distance team! It was so good to see so many people interested :)
