World of O route to christmas day 14, I need to start being more aware of the route that is quicker but strays a lot further from the line.

Route to christmas days 12-13

orienteering - General 40:00 [3]

Went pretty well, my goals were to make sure that I folded my map at each control, and also simplified and looked for big features. The last goal was kind of hard in the dark.

running warm up/down 6:00 [2]

Did some stretches and ran a bit before orienteering

running hills 30:00 [3]

Ran the three sisters tonight, didn't run as hard as I normally would have since my right thigh hurt from a few days ago. Did 3 of them, minus the middle loop the last time around because we were running out of time.

running 20:00 [1]

Warming up/ jogging around Chedoke.

Route to Christmas day 9

running 30:00 [1]

Checking out the map for our X-league race we are hosting. Thighs and legs were pretty sore from yesterday.

running warm up/down 18:00 [1]

Did the usual warm-up out to Dundern and back did some stretches. After stairs did a short cool-down.

running hills 50:00 [3]

Since no one else was at TNT tonight I decided to just do stairs. Did the Dundern stairs once (in the middle of my warm-up), the Chedoke stairs 3 times, and then did the Chedoke stairs, going up one flight, two flights, and so on until I reached the top.

World of O route to Christmas day 8. Went left around the hill, was also thinking of right but decided against it when it seemed further and vegetation thick at some points

Route to Christmas day 7, longer 3.2 km leg. I felt it was a lot easier then yesterday, and after submitting route simplified and visualized the key features.

running 30:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)

After about the first kilometer stopped and did a quick warm-up, towards the end shins were starting to hurt.

exercises 20:00 [2]

After running stretched out, did some core, and finished off with my exercises to help my knees.

route to Christmas day 6, initially thought to go right down the hill and staying low the hole time, ended up overruling this and decided I'd go left. Right ended up being better so I need to work on not ruling out options because they go further out of the way initially, looking at the full route or the big picture would help this (Also might have happened because I didn't see the full route just small sections because the computer was zoomed in on the map).

exercises 25:00 [3]

Core and did my knee exercises

orienteering - General race 1:04:00 [5]

The race went alright today, my goals were to simplify the map, visualize my route, and make sure to have a good attack point. I know I need to work on simplification and just simply fighting my instinct to constantly look down and keep checking that everything is perfect. If I can do that I feel like I'll be so much faster in races. I only made one mistake where when I came down the spur in the field and could not find the control because it was a bit further down and hidden by the grass. Other then that at times I felt I pushed harder then normal but I have to make a habit of running faster the full race.

Did route to Christmas day 5 and also worked on simplifying and visualizing http://omaps.worldofo.com/?id=159371&utm_sourc...

orienteering - General 40:00 [3]

Relocation/map memory, the four of us there just tried to get each other lost, and then they would find out where we were or navigate to one of ARK race controls from wherever we were.

orienteering - General race 35:00 [4]

End of the year ARK (Score-O) race, I started a bit after everyone else so I got to the first two green controls and there was something like 20 kids there so I decided to go to the farthest. Didn't have the optimal route choice to all the controls because of that but on the bright side I got a longer run. My goal was to run harder then I normally do orienteering.

running 20:00 [3]

Ended up running the stairs twice and nancy green once to keep warm 2nd hour. After that I picked up all the black and double black controls.

Did the 1st and 2nd day of route to Christmas.

running intervals 20:00 [4]

I did 6 longer interval loops tonight, somewhere between 800m to 850m if my gmaps pedometer mapping skills are to be trusted (for anyone in Dontgetlost the figure 8 one starting from around the bend in the road). On the 5th I got a bit of help on running form from Mark.

running 20:00 [1]

We were running for about 40 minutes so the remaining 20 minutes are warming up or jogging around Chedoke.
