Warm up for relay

Last leg of relay. Really flat but tricky vegetation bits and really sandy after the spectator control...total of 20 controls. Stuffed up # 2 a bit, little off on #6 (20 seconds if that) and otherwise pretty good. A little hesitant in one or two places, but I was pleased.

Warm-up for short qualifier...trying to get used to blister pain

Was going on really well and then somehow ended up on wrong side of huge gully, got completely confused, still do't understand how got there...lost heaps of time. Everything else was clean, but just completely lost momentum after mistake. Blister really bad...probably will not run B-final tomorrow. Qualifing cut off around 37-38 minutes. Would have made it save mistake, but that is orienteering isn't it.

Total of 8:45 in mistakes, broken into 4, 2 minute mistakes, and one 45 second mistake. Most of them were just due to total slow down once realized in slightly wrong area. Terrain was unforgiving. REALLY thick. I think I made two errors in judgement in route choice but otherwise everything went well. Not stunning, but I also have not been training to the extent these other people have. Less 8:45 would have put me just behind last Brit, and about 20 mins. back leader.
