Canoeing (C2 stern) 12:00 [1]
(injured)

Started the warm up paddle for.the rat race. It soon became apparent that paddling was not a good idea as my ribs were responding with shooting pains with each paddle stroke, so made the decision to pull out of the race and hopefully be able to paddle later this spring

3 x 1/2 mile intervals with 1/4 mile rest between. Not sure on the time for the first or second as I failed to get a split (forgot to restart my watch on the first after stopping to stretch some). Second seems to have been about 3:15 from the track. Third was about 3:10

18:30 warm up before, about 12 min warm down

Charles from norumbega. Tried tightening the hrm strap. Still reads low. Perhaps my aerobic capacity is really there.... hmmmm. Need more muscle to make my heart work when I am padddling? I dunno

With Seth on the Sudbury. Dave and Steve out also. Cold and windy - we worked hard on the way up and by half way back all of us were pretty much done. I continue to question my HRM readings while paddling - just don't seem to jive with the work I feel I am doing. Perhaps the strap isn't tight enough?
