BCOC Sprint @ Camosun Interurban Campus in Layritz

Distance is as the crow flies...

The course went well except for 10 though I was really not feeling fast. I don't feel like I made many decisions during the course just kinda followed the line around...

The new goal, based on #10 the forest control, is learning to bridge my forest and sprint skills as right now they're pretty siloed.

No GPS again...

BCOC Long @ Thunderbird Outdoor Centre in Sooke on Vancouver Island

Distance is as the crow flies...

1 - wiggly out the gate then straight once on the trail
2 - hesitant
3 to 6 - lovely and fluid
7 - eh well over ran my catching feature and didn't correct quickly. I'll blame this control on going to bed at 1am and getting up at 4:45am for the 7am ferry...
8 - rock climbing & crawling lolz
9 - played it safe and went past 14 and north of 13 then up the trail. We played splits and it was by far the superior route choice - got Erica by 7mins and I walked parts...
10 - this leg was shorter than it appeared
11 - hesitated until I saw the trail then zoom zoom
12 - ridge run and then popped out straight at the control but never saw the massive to rock mystery
13 - wee down slippery slippery trail - yikes!
14 - thru the magical salal tunnel I'd used before
15 - check
16 - quick hook correct - liked this leg!
17 - blurg downhill ermagerrd
18 - hi control
F - oddly hard to spot for a finish in an open area...

Terry Fox Run! It's HOT! But at least there is a wee bit of a salty sea breeze. Spent the whole time dodging students - is this what the Sun Run is like?!

We got lollipops at the end :P Mine is Pink Lemonade so I'm pretty much winning at life right now.

Gym Cardio (Code Blue) 30:00 [3]

RCMP Depot Training with my EMS students. Led by RCMP constable Troy!

So joining the RCMP was something I heavily considered when deciding on a career path so it's quite fun to get to join the students in some RCMP physical training as the teacher sponsor for Code Blue.

Today we did a 50/50 mental and physical fitness - warm-up week! Troy was pretty cool while we rotated through various stances (I know how they work now!) he told us about being a part of the Gitxsan Nation and working for 8 weeks fighting the wildfires.

The students who had been in the program before had REALLY impactful things to say about how it had turned their lives around and given them something to look forward to that gave them peace once a week.
