The Frizzles AGAIN! Why must we face you every. other. week.

This time it was a loss... and again it was HOT out

We won! But we usually beat this team so it was good. Marcus brought a cheering section (comprised entirely of musicians which makes sense as they are all friends of my youngest sis from music school) which was fun! Sadly, Yamil (of the cheering section) couldn't tell me if my book was in so he was only good for cheering... le sigh

S-9 Happy
10 Not happy (34min error)
11-F Too tired to assess happy or not happy

WOO 1:15,000 finally some more practice at this scale :D Was really happy with my running, reading, and flow from 1-9. I started the race a little hungry which was unfortunate and I think 10 was a combination of tired, hungry, thirsty, too hot, didn't execute my plan, and didn't do a serious job of getting myself back on track... I was slow and silly. So lots to take away from 10! 11 to the end was damage control, safe routes, was back into a flow but very much reduced in energy.

Sun is HOT first time I've seen it in months... I'd forgotten :P

Fantastic weekend with great people! Thank you to everyone!! Every major blowup reminds me that this sport is dynamic and no matter how long (or short) I have been orienteering I will always have room for growth! Nothing pleases more than an opportunity for enjoyable life-long learning :D

Note

Got home was all tired but happy with an awesome weekend of o-socializing and orienteering. Had a great shower and was all relaxed and ready to do some things before heading for an early night... then Indy was skunked and ran into the house...

5 Alarm Fire

Adam and I couldn't breathe. It was IN the doorway. Then Indy ran upstairs to where we were chatting. Had to corral Indy before she touched everything we loved which at that point was anything and everything. Once we caught her, Adam bravely carried her back upstairs to the shower... located ALL THE HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS and DOGWASHES... I nearly puked on Indy as I tried to shower her off while fully clothed... we had to scrub the walls and floor where she had rubbed herself.

Adam has now gone for a 4L jug of white vinegar and I have made a candle fort. The smell has moved up to the bedrooms so it won't be an early night for us because I need to be able to breathe to sleep.

Pretty sure my contacts saved my life because Adam's eyes are red. Never been happier I was too lazy to take them out.

Why did I leave SAGE STOMP!!!! I never got around to unpacking my car so maybe I should just go set up my tent somewhere - le sigh

Life hurts & dogsitting fail #dogssucksometimes

PS Adam is my little sister's bf so we have now had this lovely bonding experience

Took this training at its word and ran it as a training.

Probably my favourite course of the weekend excepting perhaps the first 9 controls of Sunday. Went well, walked parts, too far north on 11 and ended up at the boulder by 12 before going back to 11. Enjoyed myself.

GAH #2 (35min error)

1 was nice, 2 was a gong show, the rest was alright but I'd wasted way too much energy and time on 2 to have very much more than a noncompetitive attitude. I was really feeling the heat and lack of water having spent so much extra time on course. Le sigh - it's how this game goes live, try, learn, and try again!

Great WET course set by Leif in Deep Cove!

My left foot was taped again so I was just kinda moseying so as not to constrict my foot. I missed the openness of the weekend however the course was an excellent use of the area!

OAK NS

The kids created their own courses and then traded and ran them which is always funny. Then we worked on relocation! Brought Tucker who was a big hit and not as much of a distraction as I would have thought. I let a typically reluctant kid run with him and his enjoyment of orienteering (running) increased 100% - good job Golden Boy!
