Open Expert C7 - COCs 2015 - Long
So this course was 5.9km long not too bad but completely outmatched me. I was fighting with the vegetation, the contours, my compass, and my general feeling of blah from waking up with the start of a head cold. After spending an inordinate amount of time looking for number 3 (along with 5 or so other people on C7) I ran through to 6 and then gave myself a trail run to a decision point at a trail junction. Meaning that at the trail junction I could go left and carry on to 7 which was located somewhere in the "white" (all prior experience of this map lead me to be exceptionally weary of the runability of this white) and then onto 8 which was near the edge of the map or turn right and skip 7 & 8, pick up 9, 10, & 11 to the end.
So I turned right thus abandoning my course for the first time ever and feeling rather good about this decision as I was cold, wet, bug-bitten, and very frustrated.
Graeme and I then got ice cream which is the only way to cure a DSQ
