Running long (Road) 1:22:00 [2] 9.14 mi (8:58 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus VII

Pig training group run.
Very cold and rainy. The pullover windbreaker was great in keeping the rain off me, but it got to be too warm running with it on.

Lunken Terminal --> Fairfax --> Hyde Park --> Mt. Lookout (Delta) --> Eastern --> Lunken.

Ran it at an easy pace of 9:00/mile. I think this may be close to my anaerobic pace.
*Pain in my shins have subsided with the new shoes, but the left knee pain still persists after the run.

Orienteering race (Club Meet - Sprints) 34:51 [5] *** 2.9 km (12:01 / km) +75m 10:38 / km
spiked:11/12c (injured) shoes: Silva O' Spikes (Rubber)

OCIN Event - Sharon Woods, Sharonville, Ohio.
34F and Snowing! Very cold and very wet!

South course was the trickiest of the 3 courses there, with a couple "butterfly" legs where you visit the same control twice.
Went too low going into #6 and missed the flag (hidden behind root stock). Had to relocate from #7. Lost about 9:00 as the result. Probably could've taken better route choice to #11 as well.

Orienteering race (Club Meet - Sprints) 28:08 [5] *** 2.9 km (9:42 / km) +65m 8:43 / km
spiked:10/11c (injured) shoes: Silva O' Spikes (Rubber)

OCIN Event - Sharon Woods, Sharonville, Ohio.
Freezing temperature, and snowing ever heavier! Not the greatest combination as my O' spikes don't get much traction on ice.

North course was a better run. Had a 2:30 mistake right off the bat as I was more excited about running fast than reading the map correctly. Took it slow to #4 and hit it cleanly. Could've taken a more direct route to #11 also.

Orienteering race (Club Meet - Sprints) 19:53 [5] *** 2.4 km (8:17 / km) +50m 7:30 / km
spiked:13/13c (injured) shoes: Silva O' Spikes (Rubber)

OCIN Event - Sharon Woods, Sharonville, Ohio.
I was soaking wet by now. My hands are frozen and my legs are tired. The knee is also a bit painful.

West Course was the easiest of the three - more or less of a pure sprint (even for my level). Took a more round about way to #1, costing me 0:50 to the leaders. Had a bit of a misread before crossing the bridge to #3 (thought there was an under-passageway) that added an extra 0:30. Could've taken a more direct route to #9 as Kenny had 0:13 on me there.
Overall, it's still the best of my 3 runs today.

Note
(injured)

Left knee is really tight after the sprints. Still don't know what's causing the pain though.

Stretching warm up/down 15:00 [1]
(injured)

Stretched in-between and after sprints.

Soccer (Indoor League) 30:00 [5]
(injured) shoes: Addidas Soccer Cleats

Iced the knee last night after the run. It feels better today, as it didn't hurt during or after the game.

Stretching warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Stretch before/after game.

Running (Road) 50:00 [3] 6.0 mi (8:20 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus VII

Informal group run, easy pace.
Temperature wasn't too low, but it's rainy.
Running Spot --> Madison --> Observatory --> Delta --> Erie (turnaround at Tennis court) --> Madison --> Spot.

*After the run, outside part of my left knee is hurting for an unknown reason.

Running tempo (Road) 25:00 [2] 2.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus VII

2 loops around the subdivision - short recovery run to break in new Asics shoes

Note

Had my gait analysed today. Joe said that I'm a bit bow-legged, but otherwise my pronation is natural.
The old Asics are too worn and provide very little cushioning. This causes my feet to over-pronate and may have attributed to my shin problems. So I traded in my new Speedstar for the Cumulus, and also purchased a pair of new Landreth. They are supposed to provide extra protection/cushion for my longer runs that are coming up.

Running hills (Road) 50:00 [4] 6.0 mi (8:20 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Asics Gel Old

Pig training group run.
5 Hills in Hyde Park - took it easy on the flats and downhills, but really pushed it on the uphills. Joe, Ryan, and Laurie were there to provide the motivation and push.
Pain on right foot has subsided. However, lower half of shins still hurt.

Will check-in with Joe at the Spot tomorrow for a gait analysis.
* Joanne Nugent (Nutritionist) gave a talk before our run about nutritions for marathon runners. It was very informative, and good to hear about things I should put into my body.
