Note
(rest day)

Months of work and preparations at Appin came to conclusion, very tired but happy with the wknd race! A well-deserved rest day...can't wait for the summer season to start!

Exercises 25:00 [3]

Note

ACT Long distance summary

Control point where I had a time loss Time loss Reason for time loss
#7 5:47 Mistake
Left control 6 and instead of turning west I went north and then east until I was approaching the main road, where I realised I was off the grid. At least I managed to correct this issue relatively quickly.
#9 9:02 Mistake
Simply turned earlier than I should, I was riding on an unmapped track before reaching the triangle clearing, seriously bad
#12 1:31 don’t think there was an issue there
#13 49 Was just struggling to find the control while riding around the expected location
#15 41 I don’t think the control was positioned correctly but found it eventually

Total time lost: 17:53 min

Highlights

 Splits https://www.attackpoint.org/racesplits.jsp/race_29...

Overall, this was a bad race (which better to forget!), although I was jet-lagged… I made silly mistakes which I should not do.. and lost too much time. Looking at my results this season, I have performed really well in sprints and fairly well in the middle distance categories.

However, in the long-distance category, I consistently did not perform well at all which makes me worry that my endurance fitness is not good or my decision-making deteriorating over long events.

Things to improve

 Endurance fitness
 Going out of singles tend to become disoriented

Controls collection!

This concludes a very busy season but quite successful, next is the BOSS season which is kicking off in less than 3 weeks. Probably I will start in round 2, as per Sydney to the Gong event, Yael won't accept two cycling events in one wknd.

MIDDLE DISTANCE SUMMARY

Control point where I had a time loss Time loss Reason for time loss
#2 43 seconds Sub-optimal route choice Could have taken the shortcut track that goes south-west and save some time
#3 34 seconds Sub-optimal route choice Took the zig-zag to CP 3, but splits suggest it was quicker to climb from the west.
#7 32 SECONDS Sub-optimal route choice Same as above, taking the dashed LINE north towards control 7 would have saved climb time and distance
#8 1 MIN 15 seconds Sub-optimal route choice As for CP8, I should have taken internal track instead of the external track which was fast but incurred the further distance

Highlights

 Splits https://www.attackpoint.org/racesplits.jsp/race_29...

Overall, it was a good race with time that could have been better, had I have taken more risk

Things to improve

 Route choices, I think THERE IS A ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT!

I also think I can ride faster

Andrew and Nick took me to around the Mt Henry Bridge circuit... we ended up in the morning event at Elizabeth Quay where we met Tash...and then went for a wrap up coffee in Maylsnds, good times! https://www.strava.com/activities/1909409040/share...
