Jukola 5th leg

My first time at Jukola. Happy just to be racing given the recent illness and injury.

Ran really well to the first control (9th on leg) but then got a bit too anxious and rushed. Was focused too much on getting past people and wasn't taking my time with the orienteering. Lost over 2min altogether on controls 3,5 and 6.

Went better after that, but I was really dead physically, no thanks to my fast start. Did ok on the technical controls on the tops of the hills, which is where I assume others lost time.

Not super happy afterwards, but a lot of positives to be taken from the race. Motivating for the next few weeks.

Note

Switched to the 5th leg because of my toe. Able to run today with stiffer shoes on.

Injured my toe in training and it swelled up last night. Can't really walk on it now.
