good warm up, but i didnt really bother with a cooldown :S

Had an amazing race! Feel like i've finally got my shape back. Skis were great, and i paced myself well. My only regret is that i should have tried to catch the train that was 10s ahead of me after the first lap. They ended up about 30s ahead of me at the end, and if i was with them from the beginning i maybe could have done better. I think it was just a lack of confidence in my abilities that told me i couldnt stay with them.

to decrease the boringness of a simple 30min run on the track, i focused on making my pace slightly higher than zone 1 so as not to be passed by some old man that was there.

such a nice day on a really fun trail. Was meant to just be easy, but got sucked in with Colin into joining the front train with the Nakkertok guys and Karl Saidla. There were a few parts where i felt like a was pushing too hard, but it was really fun skiing in a train that big. Skis were really fast (used race skis :S) so i was fast on the downhills in the end.

started out too fast and then sorta died, then i bonked after that so i pulled out after 10k. I think was because i ate breakfast at 730-8 AM and then i didnt race till 12:15 due to delayed starts and i didnt eat anything in between. A lot of people didnt race because of the cold, so at least i tried.

Easy ski with Rob around mooney's. The trails were freshly groomed and the sun was shining, so it was really nice. Found a nice jump on the hill, which was fun...

not sure of time yet. Had a really good classic race, staying close to the front, but saving some energy for the brutal skate section to come. The first lap of the skate i kinda died, but as the race went on i felt better and better. Really happy for my first real skate race of the year, and the duathlon format was a lot of fun, although i wasnt very fast in the transition :P

Beat some guys i was hoping to, and so hopefully i can race next weekend in North Bay for the first ontario university race.

really happy with my race, even though i was down a few minutes on guys i was comparable with this fall. However it's my first race of the year, and i havnt trained seriously in a month, or done much skiing.
Actually had fun in this race, the weather was cold but nice,and the race atmosphere was really nice. One negative was that i was wheezing alot in the race due to cold lungs from breathing through my mouth all the time. Going to try some breath right strips sometime which will hopefully open up my nose and i wont get the wheezyness.

wanted to be the first person to ski in 2009 :P So i went out to Mooney's shortly after midnight and toodled around a bit. The trails were in bad shape, but it was the fastest skiing for me so far this year since it was quite icey. did 1.5 laps

Conditions were amazing and i felt great for the first 20min. Was planning on doing the north loop and then some... But then i just started to feel really achey and tired. Went real easy after that and made my way home. Was chilled on the way back, and spent the afternoon in bed with a big fever. Some type of a flu or something.
