Running race (MDS Nordion 10k) 44:00 [5] 10.0 km (4:24 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-2110

Not a great race. I kinda wanted to see if i could get under 40. However at the beginning of the race I had a sticth, and the rest of the rest was just really hot and tiring. I got a spot close to the line behind the elite runners where I saw Bill Rogers and Frank Shorter. I think that being so close to the front was a bad idea for me. It wasn't very crowded where i was but I took off too fast and was mostly passed by people for the first few k. Mentally i would have preferred passing people instead of being passed. Anyways maybe I'll be able to get under 40 some other day.

Orienteering race (classic) 59:19 [5] **** 6.3 km (9:25 / km) +240m 7:55 / km
spiked:10/13c shoes: Olway yellow

Much better race today. Three bad little route choices, but other than that it was good. I needed to make up 4:29 on Fraser but I missed the mark by 32 seconds. I'm kicking myself, since if i hadn't made that error in the short the situation would be different right now, but at least I made up time in my last race. Fraser raced fairly consistently in all 3 races and was the better racer...this weekend.

5 minute error on number 1. :( ! The rest of the race was kinda sloppy too, but that first mistake ended up haunting me the whole weekend and was ultimately the reason for my defeat.

Orienteering race (sprint) 19:57 [5] **** 2.5 km (7:59 / km)
spiked:7/10c shoes: Olway yellow

Okay, made a few little errors, but was an okay race.

no big mistakes. Was extremly tired. Died at control #3. The race was mostly trail running so I lost about 10 minutes on two running legs! After the race I was pretty sick. I still feel like i have a bit of a cold+ a sore stomach. Hopefully I will have recoverd for next weekends big race.
