H21E (as in elite ;) )

Feeling sick so I decided to take it easy. Jogged to the first but then started to get really in to it and was pushing hard by the end. Felt awful when I finished.

Ran pretty well technically. I thought the course was more fun than the qual. Got some good ranking points out of it at least.

Middle SM Qual

Way too stressed, made a lot of mistakes, especially on the long legs. Got thrown around by the green in the valleys and then was hard to recover on the fly with all the details on the hills.

Better physically than I thought it would be.

SM Long, B final

Woke up really sore in my right hip and which I could feel warming up. Felt really tired right from the start and lost motivation after getting caught 2mins by Johan A at number 4. There was no chance I could hang on either. Felt a bonk coming soon after that but thought I would jog around the rest of the course at least. Fully hit the wall out on the southern loop and had to walk back to the finish + the 1.5k to the arena. Úff!

SM Long Qual

Plan was to focus on the technique and routechoices and not worry about the speed. Really enjoyed the first few controls in the subtle area and open fields. Reminded me so much of Kanata lakes. Felt good on the long leg to 4 but picked a hard attack and lost 40s to a minute in the circle.

A tough slog from there to the finish but I ran pretty cleanly and picked good routes. It would have been much better if I'd felt better and was faster since the course suited me well. Satisfied that I followed my plan though. Fun terrain.

Long DM

On the way to 6 I ran all the way to 13 by mistake (misread the lines). Was super annoyed and was tempted to just quit. The terrain was pretty nice though so decided to just stroll around the rest of it as a long run. Caught up to some guys after 10 so I ended up almost back to race pace and enjoyed the last few kms. Was chugging along pretty well in parts so I'm happy with that.
