Training at Rannebergen.
Headed into the woods a ways to get changed and stash our bags. Had planned on starting from a certain hill but we had to change that idea. Moments after noticing a few large ant hills, Eric, wearing sandals, had a ton of ants biting his bare feet. Soon after I had a bunch crawling on my shoes. It seemed the whole hill was infested with these red ants!
We quickly ran over to the next hill in search of refuge, but the ants were everywhere there as well. I guess they like the dry pine forest. Out of desperation we jumped onto two large adjacent boulders. There were still ants up there, but far fewer than down below. Despite having to perilously keep our balance while swatting away the ants, we might have managed a new o-gear changing record.
After that whole debacle, we were able to set off on our training and enjoy the beautiful Rannebergen forest.
We decided to find a nicer place to get changed afterwords, and settled on this spot by the lake, where we were able to go for a quick dip.
