Orienteering race (Sydney Uni) 13:52 [5] *** 2.0 km (6:56 / km)
spiked:16/17c shoes: New Balance

Enjoyed the relay. Partnered with sledger WIz and we finished a credible 10th. I was pleased with my race and left maybe one 20sec error on way to 9, and was slow on way to 1 and again to 11 but otherwise clean alto
hough would have liked to be faster.

Orienteering race (Botany) 21:20 [3] 2.5 km (8:32 / km) +34m 7:59 / km
shoes: New Balance

Just felt like I never really got into this race. Splits say I was doing well thru the opening 7 legs in the tricky sand, but 1st open run leg and I had a blow out. Make some small errors at 12, 13 and 15 which was frustrating.

Punched out a solid run at decent pace. Pretty shattered after!

I'd planned on a slow jog but Don was running angry on my behalf! Once I dropped him off, I kept up the pace. Seems I had enough residual amger over system issues to maintain the rage. Hammy felt ok.

Orienteering race (Woodhouse) 27:41 [4] *** 3.1 km (8:56 / km)
spiked:19/22c shoes: New Balance

What do you say when you leave 7 mins out on course? 2 major errors that were inexcusable. At 9 i took the wrong track. At 12 I overshot by the best part of 300m. At 21 I ran around like a headless chook although vegetation boundary and hidden behind a seriously large tree kind of threw me!
Courses were good, although far steeper up Challenge Hill then I'd expected which just hammered my legs and slowed my race as I'd gone out hard early. I'd taken 2 mins out of Trev by control 4, and yet there we were at 9 and then again at 15 holding hands again.
Haven't seen splits but they'll probably make me cry.

Kicking the footy (SIC Training) 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: New Balance

Had 18 at training. Boys trained well but as the intensity has picked up, so have the skills waned. Not unexpected but at least they are turning up and having a go.
Now to see what happens when the coach gets his hands on them and tries to coach the skill and confidence out of them.
