Orienteering race (Sydney Sprint Series) 15:37 [5] *** 3.48 km (4:29 / km) +27m 4:19 / km
spiked:14/17c shoes: Brooks Trance 10

Sprint at Macquarie Hospital. Legs feeling really tired from race yesterday so expected to be a bit behind today which wasn't the case. Good little course which required a bit of thought for route choice. Lost bits of time within the circle at no.5 and 6. No other real losses. Possibly should have taken the route choice to the right of building at no.4 instead going left. Brooner got me by 2 seconds.

Run race (Sydney Trail Series) 45:18 [5] 10.2 km (4:26 / km) +178m 4:05 / km
shoes: Brooks Cascadia 2010

Trail race around Manly Dam. 3rd race of the series which is getting really popular with 350 entries. The majority of the course was on single trail which was great. The start was really fast, I was running well out of my comfort zone and all I was trying to do is to hang onto my position in about 15th with Brooner and Perso just behind in single file. By the 5km mark I was really hurting, Brooner had caught me up but he must have been pretty tired too from the frantic pace at the start and didn't pass. From there I got into a rhythm and caught up 5 places to finish in 10th in 45.18. Winner smashed it in 41.05. Good race, will try to go to more of these throughout the year.

Run race (Sydney Summer Series) 44:49 [5] *** 7.35 km (6:06 / km) +147m 5:33 / km
spiked:26/28c shoes: Brooks Cascadia 2010

For some reason same venue as Monday's Sprint. Good run and good course set in the bush for a change. Basically did 2 loops. First loop starting south through 2, 12, 13, 23, 17, 27, 7, 3, 19, 29, 9 then cutting through the bush and out into the only 2 street controls 11 and 21 then back into the trails for 5, 25 skipping no.1 to 15. Then a second loop through 14, 4 and lost the track 24. Then decided to skip no.6 to 26, 16 cutting through the bush to 28. Read the map wrong to no.8 and lost maybe 30 seconds then collected 18, 10, 30, 20 and then cut straight up through the green to 22 and finish. Bit of a risk as there were no other options if it was not possible. Ended up well ahead on 580 which has been rare this season. Michael Burton-540, Mark Schaefer-510, Richard Green-480, Glenn Horrocks-470.
